Coach,
Do you believe lactate inducing workouts are good in a fat loss stage when a low-carb diet is followed?
Thanks

I can be⦠and itās canāt be. It depends on several other factors. If one is following a strict low carbs diet I would only do 1 lactate workout per week, maybe up to 2 for a short period of time (2-3 weeks).
And when energy start to dip down, Iād remove it.
What do you think about combining the Velocity diet with T3 and/or Salbutamol/albuterol?
Iām a reasonbly fit 41 year old (as in 25 clean pull ups, 420lb dead lift for 3, 315 bench for 3, five mile jog in 37 minutes, etc ā work out hard 5 days a week), and a solid fitness background from the military, but I carry probably 15+ pounds of fat due to a high stress life (lawyer, travel internationally constantly, 5 daughters, etc) and diet interruptions (client dinners with wine, cocktails ā all part of the job).
Iām a ātwo abs showingā guys. No belly, but just a little softer than I was used to the past couple years.
Any diet longer than a month will inevitably get screwed up by a trip somewhere, but Iāve got the month of June looking good here.
Thoughts?
What is the cause of lower chin/neck fat?
For example: insulin causes lower back fat so āXā causes lower chin fat. What is āXā?
Thank you.

I do not answer questions about illegal products.
Legally prescribed stuff in my country! But fair enough, response. Thank you!

Yes, prescribed. However in North America they are only obtained through prescription for specific medical purposes. They canāt be legally obtained for āābody transformationāā purposes. So those who want to get these products have to go to the black market, which is illegal.
Hi Christian,
I asked a Question regarding CLA on the previous pageā¦any input?
One other thing if you will, what would you recommend as an optimal peri/post workout nutrition for someone who rises at 6am and starts training at 715am. Currenly trying to get down to 8% from 11.5% as in my previous post.
Currently I haveā¦
6am - 40g Whey/ freshly juiced apple/ celery/ carrot/ ginger
630am - 500ml water with 15g BCAA and 5g Creatine and a FINIBAR
710am - Train with 30g BCAA
830am - 40g Whey/ 30g Glutamine/ 5g Creatine
10am - 150g Chicken/ Tuna etc, 1/2 Avocado and chunk of Cucumber (trying to follow your Get Jacked advise)
Follow a similar trend for the rst of the day.
Much appreciated Christian!

Iām 16 and weigh in at 185ā¦
Iām a bit chubby and canāt really see my abs. I was wondering what you think is best for my age to get both cut and big? As Iāve heard a lot that I can do both at my age if I follow a certain diet regimine and training typeā¦
Any ideas? I want to lose fat mainly for now then bulk back up by the time Iām 18.
Heres a pic of me from the front to show you what I currently look likeā¦

Make sure that it is muscle loss⦠is there a decrease in strength?
If protein intake is already at roughly 1.75g per pound or more I really have trouble believing that lack of protein is the cause for the muscle loss. It is much more likely an imbalance between anabolic and catabolic hormones.
I would have to see the individualās diet over the past month or so to make a definite recommendation. But Iām likely to use one of the following strategies:
a) increase pre-workout carbs prior to the first workout and include a small amount (30-40g) prior to the second one.
b) stop all energy systems work (including lactate workouts) and focus more on heavy lifting and hypertrophy, but keep a low volume of work.
c) stop the diet for one week, go back to eating in 40-40-20 proportions (40% protein, 40% carbs, 20% fat) for 7 days before starting the diet again.
I would likely use a combination of A and B at first. And if that fails, move on to C.
Thanks Coach!
MUCH appreciated.

Hey Thib,
Iām hoping you can give me some guidance because Iām stalling with my fat loss progress.
I started this routine about 6 weeks ago with 12.5% BF at 219lbs, last week I was at 209lbs with 9% BF. So I have lost about 10lbs (7-8lbs fat, 2-3lbs water) with minimal muscle loss. My strength has stayed about the same or gone up in a few lifts. But now my fat loss is beginning to stall, with two weeks in a row of no change in BF% and this Monday I was up 5lbs (probably due to water and glycogen storage from a more relaxed diet this weekend). Hereâ??s all my details
WORKOUT: Iām following your Destroying Fat workout almost precisely. Except IĆ¢??m not including sprints anymore as they tend to strain my quads and hams (despite warming up and stretching really well); which can ruin my lower body workouts for the rest of the week.
NUTRITION: I modified Berardiās āGet Shredded Dietā, by increasing the Protein and thus total Calorie intake. I started at 12cal/lb and lower the total Cal by about 50 weekly. Right now IĆ¢??m at 2400 Cal/day (2100 on Non-WO days). Iām getting around 120g Fat, 50g Carb (Surge Recovery Pre/Post WO) plus veggies which i donĆ¢??t really count, and 250-275g Protein).Which works out to 45% Fat, 10% Carb, 45% Pro. Generally Iām very compliant with my diet allowing 1 day where I reload on carbs like rice or pasta.
SUPPLEMENTATION: IĆ¢??ve been taking HOT-ROX pre breakfast and lunch. Creatine, BCAA and Glutamine twice through the day between meals and added into Pre/Post WO Surge Recovery drinks. IĆ¢??m taking 3g Fish Oil with each meal (9-12g per day). Also taking ZMA + Glutamine and BCAA pre-bed.
I read this entire forum, and came up with a few possibilities to jumpstart my fat loss:
A) Reduce fat intake to 60-80g
B) Do split workouts, with Strength sessions AM and Lactate sessions PM
C) Include Sprint Cycling instead of regular sprints
If this is too specific, please give some general guidelines on continued Fat Loss or getting through a stalling point.
Thanks for any advice you have! Much appreciated!
PS: One more questionâ?¦ Is the continued use of HOT-ROX slowing me down? I saw you mentioned that in one of your replies; can you elaborate (or tell me where to look for more info)? Thanks!
Coach, at what point in a fat loss regime would you recommend introducing HOT-ROX? Right now, Iām fat. Iād estimate Iād have to lose about 35-40 lbs to get back abdominal definition. Since, just eating better and moving more will likely dump off plenty of fat, should I save the HOT-ROX for when I get leaner and the fat is harder to lose?
(Apologies if youāve answered this already, the thread is getting very hard to search)

CT - from your experience, what has been the most productive way in determining the calorie needs of an invidiual for fat loss?
I find this hard in working out how many calories to consume a day for the most effective weight loss as there are so many different methods calculating the BMR and different suggestions on how much of a calorie deficit to create. Thanks mate.
No BMR estimation formula is accurate. It gives you your āātheoreticalāā BMR and rarely is even remotely accurate. Not to mention that it doesnāt take into account daily activity level.
What I recommend is this:
CT- using this method, are there any symptoms of having too few calories? At the moment I am on about 1900, dropping my starchy carbs after 10.30AM. I am about 6" and 83KG. I seem to be losing around 0.5kg a week. From what I have said, would the 1900 calories be optimal for me then? Thanks!
Hey coach quick questionā¦Do you see any befenfits from using testosterone boosterās in a fat loss phase such as āAlpha Maleā or āRez-Vā??? Im only 26, and donāt believe I have low testosterone or anythingā¦I was just wondering if you think it would be beneficial to add. Also, would there be any negative side effects?
THANKS COACH

ive been thinking about getting Rez-v to improve my insulin sensitivity. im 26 also.
Coah Thibā¦I calculated my BMR and DEE as follows: BTW Iām 5ā10" 245lbs and somewhere around 25% BF
BMR = 2207cal
DEE = 3531cal
-20% to lose fat = 2825cal
broke that down to
1.25g protein x 245lbs weight = 306g protein/day and how many calories?
I need to know what my fat intake should be in calories and gramsā¦
and Iām assuming my carbs should be at 30g or less? ā¦how many carb calories?
Sorry I donāt know this shit yetā¦Iāve been a novice weight lifter for a long time (10years), but havenāt ever been serious about my diet. Well itās timeā¦I could use a little help here. Thanks!

CT,
Iāve read your stance on artificial sweeteners, but what if theyāre used during a workout in a CHO+water mixture? Will it hinder fat loss?
Does anyone know where Thib explains about not taking HOT-ROX for more than two weeks? Or other stimulantsā¦
Thanks!

Itās on this thread, towards the middle I believe. I know thatās really broad but itās definitely on here.
