Question for Chad Waterbury

CW, I really appreciate the fact that you answer these questions personally and I will take your advice and do BBB first.

I did it a while back though and I had a question that I was wondering if you could clarify. On leg day 1 you perscribe both handing leg raises and decline situps. Both of these are ab movements so I was wondering what the motivation is as you seem to be apropenent of not training abs directly that much.

Secondly, I really like doing natural GHR’s for calf development. Do you think they could be a substitute for one of the calf exersises? My concern is that this may mean too much volume for my posterior chain.

Again, thanks for the great articles and advice.

CW,

I want to know what do you think if i use the QD program for fat loss? what kind of adjustment will you suggest for me?

CW,

Been a few months since I’ve been in the T-Nation (business start-up, fun stuff like that), but I gotta hand it to ya when you can convert a die-hard “Renegade” fan like Nate Dogg!

Props to you, big guy, and to Nate, too!

Mike

Tears,

Perform the GPP routine for as long as you keep reaping the benefits.

blam,

I prescribed two ab exercises since newbies are usually grossly underdeveloped with abdominal strength (the BBB routine was written for those relatively new to training).

Throw in the GHR if you feel the need - it’s an awesome exercise.

Monster Wong,

QD for fat loss? Only if you’re on anabolics.

The “adjustment” I would suggest is to perform the Triple Total Training program instead.

Mike, good to see you’re still around, even though I’ve been MIA for a while.

Yep, I’ve converted from Renegade Training to CW’s stuff for the next several months. Once finished with those programs, I’ll be going over to Westside for Skinny Bastards by DeFranco.

It should work nicely for me, especially with my home set up that keeps me focused on doing the basics and getting stronger and bigger.
