As I’m based in the UK I’ll be sleeping while Chad fields questions in the forum tonight.
If Chad can answer this question if he see’s it, or if anyone can point him here or answer I’d really appreciate it.
Chad’s ABBH 1 program is often listed as the first of his many programs to try.
I have less than 1 years strength training and making some of the set/reps combinations with their slected %age of 1RM very difficult to achieve.
For example, I reckon I can do somewhere between 15-20 full range body weight dips, with elbow significantly below parallel. If I only went to parallel and dipped at a fairly pacing tempo, say, 211, then I am sure I can crank out more.
In ABBH Week 1 Day 5 it calls for 5 x 10 reps at 60% of 1RM with only, gulp, 60 secs rest between sets.
I haven’t a clue how I’m going to co-ordinate this. I can do 5 reps of weighted dips with 20Kg in my backpack but converting this ability into the ABBH program seems difficult.
Another example is chinups (palms facing me).
I can crank out somewhere between 10-12 reps full range chinups (when I lower I let my arms become almost straight, I don’t just lower until my elobow is 90 degrees) and I can do 5 full range weighted chinups carrying a meagre 10Kg in my backback.
If I’ve made some sense I’d appreciate any feedback on my predicament. It seems to me that unless I reach appreciable levels of strenghts first in dips and chins to even do 5 x 10 bodyweight, never mind %age’s of 1RM.
Any thoughts?

You can replace dips and chins with decline DB bench presses (palms facing each other) and supinated grip pulldowns, respectively.
Also, you might want to give Big Boy Basics a try before undergoing ABBH.
Top man Chad - thanks for the prompt reply.
I appreciate the suggestion of the other program too, so I’ll definately consider doing that too.
By the way, just started your TBT on Saturday and got back from doing my second workout tonight - great workout!
Thanks again.
Sorry, I deleted this post because I put it in the wrong thread.
