i’m saying guys around 5’8" around 210 and guys around 6’ around 250
is it just as much of a battle to keep your body fat down when you carry large amounts of muscle mass (according to your frame) as it is when your quite a bit lighter?

It’s a lot easier when you’re heavier (of course I’m assuming we’re talking about not eating pizza 6x a day). When I’m around 200-210, I easily eat 4000-4500 cals a day, and maintain a fairly ‘lean by normal standards’ physique. I rarely worry about the occassional ‘bad’ meal, as my body actually needs that many more calories to support the overall weight.

You just got answered by a Pro…Don’t think it gets any better than that :)/nuthuggery. Stu I’m craving a nice burger later, you in?
Do cardio and watch your carbs. I’m not a big guy either
I dropped 30lbs with serious cheat days twice a week and no cardio. There is no way in hell I would have been able to do that at 160lbs without it ALL being muscle lost.
The more muscle you carry, the more you can get away with as far as food intake…just to repeat I guess was Stu wrote.

Lol, Man I would kill for some red meat right about now! I sorta missed my birthday because of the contest prep,so my girl is planning a little belated get-together with a few friends, and I was hoping for a burger joint. We recently found out about a place that has burgers made from ‘exotic animal meat’ (can you say BEAR-BURGER? -lol) that sounds promising ![]()

Test run:
BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER
BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER
BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER BURGER
BURGER.
And, much like Einstein eluded to…CHEESEBURGER.

Is that basically why skinny fat teenagers should be eating and lifting to gain and not worry about their bodyfat till they have a substantial amount of muscle mass?

Same here…though I don’t have PRO status like mr fancypants here lol.
But it’s that same idea. If you are little, obviously your body requires less calories to exist, so an occasional overdose is most likely getting deposited as fat. If you’re big, not only is the fat spread over a larger frame, so it appears to be less, but more calories will also be needed to replenish glycogen, and feed the body’s faster metabolism.
Is it just me or are some people only interested in 1 person’s response when they post threads?

Nobody is recommending that as a newbie, you don’t need to worry about bodyfat. The recommendation to “not worry about body fat” is for those who, ironically, are naturally lean and skinny and obsessing over their so called growing waist line.
It is for those who somehow think that they can grow decently without ever gaining fat - those with a fat phobia.
If for example, someone was close to 20% bf or higher (as an educated guess), and they were well under 200lbs at average height then it would be foolish to recommend them to get big first, don’t worry about fat, and cut later.
This whole “don’t worry about fat” thing, is taken way out of context. It’s talking about the long term. That is, fat gains accumulated over a long period of time. If you get considerably fat on a weekly basis (despite good training), you’re eating too much. The overall muscle gains have got to outweigh the fat gains. Provided enough protein is being consumed, strength should be going up smoothly on a weekly basis (for your average trainee).
Sorry, didn’t mean to speak for PX there!

What do you mean? It sounded like a pretty general question to me.
I predict that turning Professor X’s posts in to “BURGERS” via quotes will be the new meme here and I love it.
I’m 255 now down from 265 to 270 about a month ago. The thing when you eat a lot is if you decrease the food you lose weight in a day or two just from reduced gut contents.
That’s just the first few pounds, but yeah, it’s easier because you simply have more calories to work with.
