I am basking in the glow of all the compliments… I use my inflated ego to help me keep my chest up during squats needless to say thanks for the support everyone.
So today was squat domination day. They just felt so damn right! And as I tell my Chewy when things are going right - “don’t you fuckin stop” ;). so I didn’t. Made 205lbs my little bitch too.

20 minutes of 3mph treadmill 5% incline to 13% incline as preperation for my hiking trip.
Why did today go so well?
1- full weekend of rest and plenty of caloric food.
2- solid snack pre-workout: oates/PP/peanutbutter
3- set bar lower on my back and used my wraps to help support my wrists. My sticking point is usually when I fold over during the squat. keeping the bar low helps prevent that.
So wait, rest and enough food actually work ;-p
That’s some nice sqawting, and a very nice PR.
Mmmmm, scallops! We actually went scallop hunting w/ my diving club last week, for legal reasons we had to do it in snorkel gear though. I want s’more! How did you cook them?
Ouro- I’ve hit the 205lbs before but in a very sporadic way. sometimes I’d get it, most times I’d fold like wet paper. Keeping the bar low on my back has made the lift consistant. Most I’ve squated was a bad 210, as in very high bad.
Kimba - a year of rehab is starting to pay off. But I’m sure there is more to learn…
Lula - that’s my beef about programs. You need to learn when to push and when to stop. I’ll go back on 5/3/1 in a bit, for now I’m finding the fun again.
Nadia - all these are rep PRs that were waiting for me to stop being a pussy. The deads have tought me to lift through the heaviness… 275lbs feels heavy? doesn’t matter, pull it again. In squats my “bail” signal is a wuss and I’m trying to learn to push against it.
BG - I tried channeling the confidence I have with deads for my squats. I honestly think: “you are my bitch bar” prior to lifting when the weight looks intimidating to my mind.
K - must try the scallops and saffron some day. sounds Le Delish.
Cal - thanks my right hip flexor has been whiney for a week. It reminds me of how you have to work around these things all the time. I’m def finding time to foam and stretch to prevent injury, something I would have lazy’d out of in the past.
Techno: snorkel gear? kinda funny. I buy them frozen as an easy weekday meal. fresh when I want to impress.
Basically throw a little oil and butter in a frying pan
Add scallops
add garlic flower or chopped garlic
add diced cherry tomatoes
salt and pepper
fry for 2-3 minutes depending on the size. Basically until cooked through. You don’t want to over cook or they become rubbery. Usually 5 minutes tops.
add handful of aragula and let wilt.
add cooked pasta to frying pan to obsorb some of the cooking juices. Let it sit for a minute or 2.
Joe - Have you tried wrist wraps? Also you might have some imbalances that come out more with low bar such as issues firing hammies and ass? Just and idea…
Foam roll & shoulder dislocates then down to business.
Bench:
barx12
95x8
115x5
125x4 - went for 5 but no go.
135x1 - not happy at all with how it felt.
115x8 - 2nd wave much better
135x3 - happier
145 -fail.
115x8
135x1 - hit my wall. failed on 2nd rep.
Barbell rows
50x12
70x12
90 2x6
Skull crushers
40 3x12
barbell bicep curls
50x12
60 2x6
Barbell front raises
20x12
30 2x8
Treadmill 5-14% incline 2.5-3mph for 20 minutes. Homemade chili for supper
Greg- welcome and thank you, I do me best to impress
Soldog- The plane ticktes might get a little expensive though…
Bear - I am eating and sleeping properly and feeling pretty good these days. I am somewhat disappointed about my bench since I rarely manage anything over 135. My 155 max seems impossible. I need to remember to keep the increase at 5lbs when reaching my max.
MIM - I fully support that statement.
Tonight I shop for noms and watch SYTYCD while my muszles rest and grow.

Awesome!
Also, I was lurking in the SAMA and I think the next photo theme for you should be solid colors. Like a photo to epitomize each color?
