I’m jelly.

Ok Yonkey has me thinking about belts now…what kind do you guys all have? Are there specific ones for women since our torsos are typically shorter, or is a belt a belt a belt? (I’m over thinking this, yes)

And Masch-x500 what everyone else said. You own those pull ups!! OWN.THEM![/quote]

I use a 10mm Inzer lever belt. I have a fairly short waist (everything about me is short but somehow adds up to “average” height), and occasionally will bruise on my hips from squats with a belt, but it isn’t bad.

It’s a beautiful instrument.

Lula,

I’m still not using a belt, but both Nadia and Kimba gave me advice about belts back on my old log. Unfortunately, I can’t find it now. Ask them and they’ll send you a link to where they got them. As I recall, they went down to some very small waist sizes.

Yes. And Cal’s curves are gorgeous. I think my calves have the potential to be bigger than my butt. Humm… Something wider at the base, like a saxophone.

PMPM: Thanks for the response. I have been looking at the 10mm Inzer, and for the reasons you listed, am debating between the tapered or the non. Do you wish you had the tapered?

Puff: I tried looking that up too because I recall the discussion, and in one of Kimba’s old logs, but came up empty handed. Thanks for hunting and for your response!

Another vote for the Inzer 10mm forever belt over here.

I love mine. I traded my old belt for the one I have now and I don’t [i]really[/b] know what it is, but its definitely a 10mm and the detailing looks more like a Forever belt than anything else I’ve ever seen. Plus I know others that have had them and they’re nice.

I’m average sized, but short waisted and wouldn’t ever consider a tapered belt. The belt hits my hips and ribs, but that doesn’t cause any problems for me.

No. I’ve played with tapered belts and feel they provide a “crease” in my torso that I fold over. I prefer the wall of support, even if there’s some pain occasionally.

Yet another example of God not wanting women to lift.

Perfect, thanks ladies!!

hmm. it never really occurred to me that my back will probably look quite different when i’m able to meet my pull-up goal. i worried a bit about whether i should do pull-ups instead of chin-ups because i don’t want my biceps to explode, neither. but i guess i’ll look how i’ll look. getting stuck into trap bar deadlifts, though, 'cause my legs are kinda puny.

Like everyone else advised me - just get that goal and then deal with the aesthetics!! What’s more satisfying to you? Dominating your chinups or worrying about your biceps? I say get those chins, woman!!

And FWIW, I started my pullup obsession with chinups too! Its a slippery slope and then you want to master them all

Also, doesn’t your pullup guy have you doing rows and what not as accessory for the chins? That’ll keep things nice and even…trust the method!

Am I the only one who actually wants a mile-wide back and watermelon biceps, then? (Not that my genetics will allow it, but still, I can dream).
