Q & A, PW Style

so no undies in jeans. huh.

Doesn’t that hurt? I don’t wear em with my jammies or mostly with my training garb. But without jeans? hmm

I only wear underwear with dresses and jeans.

I don’t really run, but I love my Merrel Pace Gloves. they’re great for non-pavement surfaces. Everything Cal said about her free’s applies to them.

So my question, I’m thinking of going for a Brazilian. Tips? How do I find a salon I like when I don’t actually know anyone to get recommendations from?

VS’s “the lacie” thong is probably my favorite underwear eva.

I’m interested in this Brazilian advice as well–

You have to get a personal recommend on a waxer or at the very least read all their online reviews. A good waxer is FAST and will have you completely done in ten minutes or less. The first one hurts the abso worst the more you go and the more frequently the less painful. For your first time take a couple Advil half hour before and do not go anywhere near your period Amy girl says this is most painful time go like the week after. I don’t get my period so that is second hand info from my waxer herself.

How long’s it last for you?

How long does one have to wait until sexy time?

I read all the online reviews and they are good. I think I’ll check out the salon this week. Anything I should ask about?

I feel fairly naked in only one layer of compression tights. I also have a morbid fear of the ass splitting when I’m squatting or something. And I’m not totally convinced they don’t go a bit transparent when I’m deep squatting. So I either wear trackies over the top or wear two layers. No underwear, though.

I don’t have too much trouble finding comfortable underwear outside the gym. There are a couple lines (bendon?) of ones that are designed not to leave lines and they fit pretty comfortably. I need to wear underwear under jeans, yup. Though these days I’ve started mostly wearing compression tights rather than underwear. I think it does help with leg recovery. My compression tights are actually fairly flattering, too, though one of the compression tops I tried on turned me into a bit of a rolly dog heh.

I get about one week perfectly bare. Ultimately every two weeks is best schedule for me. Its BARELY long enough to wax again at that point and I find it much less painful than pushing to three or four weeks. I try to stick to this schedule. Everyy 2-3 weeks no matter what other circumstances just to keep the painfulness minimal.

Oh and no need to wait for sexytime.

If you have upcoming sexytime on your schedule I suggest the waxing the day before. If same day sexytime breaks out, no problem

Brazillians are the shiz…few tips…

  1. take some ibuprofen a couple of hours a head of time.
  2. Wear VERY lose fitting clothes…and no panties the day of.
  3. The first time is the worst and you will still have SOME random hair…so dont go throwing out your razor.
  4. Like Hallowed said, get recommendations of a waxer if you can. The longer you are in there, the worse the anxiety is.
  5. Warning: they will wax your buttcrack…just be ready for this. It doesnt hurt, but I wasnt mentally prepared for it…lol
  6. Mine lasted about 3.5 weeks the first time, but the hair becomes less and less each waxing and you can usually stretch it out…
  7. I ultimately had laser hair removal on my bikini lines which was awesome. I get the rest waxed and it doesnt require much waxing at all and it only kinda hurts now.
  8. Dont go near your period.

I did an internship at a gym and taught a workshop there and at a local corporate gym about women and weightlifting. I still have all my notes and packets I made for them that I can contribute to a thread if one is made.

I got a brazillian done once, I had a chance to get one done for $10. It wasn’t that bad as far as pain goes and definitely bearable. However I only got one because I get crazy razor burn everytime I try to shave. Unfortunately the brazillian did not prevent the outbreak of unsightly red bumps :frowning: I feel as though I’m just doomed to never have a smooth bikini line.

@ MiM - no panties with jeans/combats, no. What I do is I get the very thinnest type of panty liner and stick it in the gusset. That a) stops any seam chafing and b) keeps the gusset clean so the jeans/combats can be worn more than once. I believe there’s a brand in the US called Commandos that are specifically designed for the purpose.

If I am wearing smart trousers or leather pants, then I’ll wear French knickers. These are loose so they don’t bother me too much. But I wear smart trousers only for parents evenings and I’ve not fitted into my leather pants for some time.

Ten bucks! Whoa! I think the one at my local salon is $75 or more! As for the bumps… I was told that the more you do it the less and less bumps and irritation you’ll get as it grows back because the hair is supposed to be finer. Not finding that to be true.

HA good job keeping away cluter you two!

My girlfriend is wanting to build her glutes some, she doesn’t lift but is willing to try whatever, the problem is she has serious shoulder issues that mean Deadlift, squat and most upper body work is out!

She was asking me how to impove her glutes while working around this pretty big limitation, all I could think of was ‘hill sprint’ as we have no access to a GHR and I’ve never had much sucsess with hip thrusts.

So any of you lovely ladies suggestions would be great. [/quote]

Lunges work real well, also waist belt squats work too.

Hallowed and Dash are absolutely correct on the waxing thing. I used to go every 6 weeks and now every 4. Could prolly go every 3. When you spread out the sessions the hair does NOT thin out. But I would wait and see how fast your hair grows back before deciding how often to go. My girl takes about 30 mins because we chat a lot. The ONLY problem I have with my current place is the lighting is HORRIBLE and she always always leaves hair on the inside because I don’t think she can see it. Next time I will ask if she can use the bright fluorescent light they use during facials. The buttcrack was a surprise to me. I didn’t realize the hair went back that far!!! LOL I would hate to go to someone else because she’s great otherwise, but the whole point of a Brazilian is to be BARE and I’m not.

Funny thing about waxing the cooch and skin elasticity. I was told by a friend who is an esthetician not to get into the habit of waxing much more than the bikini line. Apparently the repeated pulling can cause sag, for some people. Not a pretty picture, I’d imagine.
i think if I couldn’t get away with a disposable razor (no bumps, rash or anything) I’d do the laser removal.

I have done laser and its incredible. I touch up with waxing as laser doesnt truly get it all.

So far, labia = not saggy! lol

I’ve heard this too, but about eyebrows and face in general. I get my eyebrows threaded, something to try if you guys haven’t.
