need neck and back surgery, but these are my best lifts of the last 6 months or so:
deadlift 272kg x 1, 225kg x 11
back squat 200kgx6
front squat 220kg x 1 (belt and knee wraps)
power clean 150kg
jerk from rack 140kg
close grip bench press with pause at bottom 140kgx2
but I am a libertarian, which means I am always right about everything.
These are “need neck and back surgery” lifts?
Holy crap!!

I just had back surgery in July… What kind of back surgery are you in need of? I have a trove of information for you if you are interested.

Pat, good luck on your back recovery. After hurting my back a couple of times, I stopped doing free squats and deads. Sucks, but at least I’m still making progress, sans the injuries.
Keep the numbers coming, haven’t heard anything yet from Tiribulus, orion, Brother Chris, Sloth, kamui, Mufasa, Forbes, raj, PB Andy…
lol.
ahem

I really haven’t added much weight to my lifts recently, but I’m doing about the same lifts at a much lighter bodyweight.

this is adding in my book. don’t you love it when this happens?

I had never tested my 1RM in the chin and so gave it a shot tonight. Did one with a 107.5 lbs. DB hanging from my belt. My best guess based on how it felt going up is I could’ve lifted maybe 125 or so. (Didn’t have a 125er that I could attach and just didn’t feel like strapping on the requisite plates)
Bodyweight is 215.
What kind of chin numbers do you fellers have?
wow push.

Shoulder problems for over 20 years. Never able to do big bench or military numbers.
BTW, never used belt or wraps of any kind ever. Figured if I couldn’t lift it raw I shouldn’t be lifting it at all.
I do practically no straight bar bench or O/H presses for the same reason.
Try one arm DB presses, JEAT.
Yes. I’m on to that one. Use 90lb dbs for seated presses. Follow with Hammer strength press and some db lateral work.
Actually, these days most of my chest work is also done with db’s.

Going to a thumbless grip on O/H pressing really eased the pains in my shoulders. Fat Grips seem too help too. I’d also give neutral grip with a log or football bar a try.

I noticed Fat Gripz do help but for some reason even though I own a pair I don’t use 'em much.
HAH! I’m the same way. I just like the feel of iron.
Sorry I missed this post Pat! Speed is where things move at incredible rates, obviously. Maybe it is because I am a man and at 32 I still am ready for more. Cruisers have their time and place. Yet IMHO the same reason for NOT riding on the street applies. Other people can and often kill other people on bikes. Quick tangent, a guy who rode in MotoGP top level of motorcycle racing! for Yamaha, Norick Abe was in Japan, his home city, and a semi made an illegal U turn. Abe knew how to ride a motorcycle! Yet he still died on a bike.
The arm is totally dysfunctional. I have tons of hope for adult stem cell therapy, if our government would get the fuck out of the way and cease funding of embryonic stem cell research. The number is still zero in the embryonic department. Been a while since I last heard of the ASC side total tally. Six years ago it was over ten thousand!

Yeah, that’s the caveat. Of course, I am not rounding a corner at 140 with my knee on the ground, ever, either. I would prefer more of a cruising type bike…I leave the speed for cars. Weirdly, I love fast cars, but I never really was much for fast bikes. I bet you really don’t give a shit about cars…
How dysfunctional is the arm? Does it not move at all? Limited? Chance it may improve overtime?
I have two discs that are pressing on my cervical spine, causing pain and right arm numbness and weakness.
need a cervical fusion
low back “moderate to severe” stenosis, need to be cleaned out, and perhaps a micro-discectomy.
and Chushin, thanks for asking, it is sort of day to day. I have really decreased the loads, and trying more bb now…my log is in the Over 35 forum.
