I had never tested my 1RM in the chin and so gave it a shot tonight. Did one with a 107.5 lbs. DB hanging from my belt. My best guess based on how it felt going up is I could’ve lifted maybe 125 or so. (Didn’t have a 125er that I could attach and just didn’t feel like strapping on the requisite plates)
Bodyweight is 215.
What kind of chin numbers do you fellers have?
Ah, I can compete here! BW (220) + 150 for one.
Not sure I count as a regular, but here you go:
Squat: 575 raw no knee wraps (in competition)
Deadlift: 575 (same competition, missed 600)
Bench: 365 w/full pause
Front squat: 435
Power snatch: 225
Power clean jerk: 305
Standing press: 225
These are all current, but will hopefully be pushing many of these up soon.
Current BW is 215 and for Push I can usually max at around 15 pullups dead hang bar to chest.

Typically don’t use weight on chins…except in the 5/3/1 deload.
But I do 175+ chins a week.
On heavy days I primarily use deloads or rack runs, whatever you want to call it.
DL I’ll start with 495lbs and usually get 3-5 then take a plate off each side down to 225lbs and try to finish with at least 30.
Squat, I’ll start with 405lbs similar routine.
I do most chest work with dumbells, can do the 200s for sets of 3, the heaviest I have gone with a barbell is 315. but my close grip is as strong as my regular and my incline is my strongest chest movement.
will do sets of 5 with the 200lb dumbell for bent rows. pullups a set of 5 with 2 45lb plates.
I 6’1" am around 235, not as lean since I have stopped fighting competitively. I still prefer my heavy circuits and prefight routines over going really heavy. But now my favorite workouts are cutting trees and splitting wood, moving field stone.

As for a motorcycle, seriously go for it! I recommend taking a STAR class, or equivalent. As for me I will ride again, once I have enough money saved. The experience of a motorcycle has never been better with anything I have ever experienced. I have been told a fighter jet is the only experience better. The world is even more spectacular on two wheels! Also, my time to leave this world was determined long ago by God and I would never try and sit in a padded room. Especially when I can go over one hundred and seventy miles an hour, real world speed AND drag my knee through corners at a buck forty. Thank God for allowing me to experience the endorphins!! OMG give me moar please!! Then after the street, take your bike to a track ; )

I was always wondering what that avatar was about…Well I did want a motorcycle, but stories like this make me rethink that idea. Granted this situation would have still been bad in a car, but not as. Unless it was a Smart, then your better off on the motorcycle.
Now I understand where “kneedragger” comes from. I never would have guessed it was about turning corners on a motorcycle at 140 mph.
Glad to hear you made it through such a horrific accident. You sure you don’t want to take up water polo instead?

It’s been a while since I started developing tendonitis in my forearms, but my last count was 16 reps with 90 pounds.
I’ve never liked kipping either. My weighted pullups are 2/3 ROM, not dead hang every rep. The numbers might seem high, but I weigh a lot less than you. I also do dips full ROM with 90 pounds for 10 reps.

Your numbers are still impressive.
Oh how I miss dips. My shoulders simply no longer tolerate them.

Thanks man, wish I had your numbers but I’ve got 8 years to catch up!

There is not. And it’s beside the point anyway, as “goddamn good will and harmony” is nothing more than a red herring. We were discussing our lifts, Chusin. Try and keep up.

Thank you. Two quick questions. How do I experience the same rush as dragging my knee through s corner? And two, how can I be very good at water polo with one functional arm? ; )

My best was bw + 80, but it gave me horrible tendinitis in my forearms so, they are pretty much out. Getting old su-ucks.

How would you ride again with one arm?

I’ve actually seen guys ride with one arm (even some guys racing in a handicapped league with one arm). It depends on the arm, but it is just a question of changing the controls around. I think they moved the clutch to the right foot and ran either without a rear brake (I think this was the case) or with linked brakes (front and rear actuated at the lever). What’s more I knew a guy who raced downhill mountain bikes with one arm! He pulled a heck of a joke on one of the EMTs at a race once after he crashed the guy ran up and he yelled, “where’s my arm” and the EMT just went white.
