Shut up, you’re doing fine. You don’t have to lift a truck to be ‘real’. It’s about heart and effort. The numbers come.
And eat more!

Push is and has been a specimen for many years. God has blessed him with an indestructible back. He, by default,m is going to whip everybody’s ass.

Pat, good luck on your back recovery. After hurting my back a couple of times, I stopped doing free squats and deads. Sucks, but at least I’m still making progress, sans the injuries.

Keep the numbers coming, haven’t heard anything yet from Tiribulus, orion, Brother Chris, Sloth, kamui, Mufasa, Forbes, raj, PB Andy…
I have the full skinny on the back in the T-Cell, but I appreciate the well wishes. I am 8 weeks away from any kind of for-real lifting. I haven’t decided if I am going to document my resurgence, but I have a plan in place and I cannot friggin’ wait to hit the weights. The rack beckons.
Anyhow, I have been cleared to do the elliptical and other cardio equipment, so my plan is to go nuts on that for the next weeks. Then I am going to pop the tab on a can of whoop-ass.

I do not nor have I ever lifted for strength. I’m just a purty boy doing non-functional bodybuilding training. So nothing really special. These are semi-recent (few months back, haven’t been going heavy recently). Also numbers are weird because I’m converting from kilograms, which is what all the weights are here.

Bench press: 407 X 1

Back Squat: 407 X 1 (I know, right?)

Deadlift: 495 X 2

Grip measures out at roughly 200lbs on a grip strength tester. Not sure if this is good or bad.

I can also throw kettlebells, including the 32kg size, around like nobody’s business.

Like I said, nothing special.

Shitty recent camera phone pic included.

I gotta ask, do you get a lot of weird looks wandering the streets of Japan?
I live in one of the more relatively rural areas, so I literally get stared at by all manner of people most days. When it’s kids, I actually enjoy it, and usually start up a conversation with them, because they are typically genuinely interested. But the other group that tends to do it is old people, and I just find it to be rude when they do, as they should know better. When I go into one of the bigger cities like Hiroshima or Fukuoka, though, I blend back into anonymity.

I own my own business here so it is a double edged sword. I am kind of “famous” in my small town (I do TV and radio, too, which really bolsters this), but I also have to be on my best behavior where ever I go at all times, as everybody knows me and people love to gossip.

From about 2 months ago:

Bench 140kgs x1
Pullups bw (80kgs x 14ish)
squat 160kgs x2
dead 160kgs x1

I did these for a “challenge” workout with bw x 1.5 or two. Maybe I should max out sometime. The lifts aren’t much, but I do love them. Seeing as how this is the internet, I should probably multiply all these numbers by two as well lol

and “Ohashi jozu” to you guys too.

100 lbs Goblet /9" box squat 24 reps
Dead lift 225 12 reps

I thought this was fun , had not done this in a while

Have actually train alot of goblet squats for some years ago and they helped me go deep( bellow paralell ), and I am still good at going deep in squats becuase of me being a short fellow and because I did as mentioned alot of goblet squat before. My problem is as others have pointed out: eating to little, but also being a pussy. I have never tried a max attempt in squat becuase I am probably to much of a pussy and I train for the most parts alone. So I need a big prescription of more food and more balls ;).

Anyways thanks for the tips pittbull

Now let this thread get back at topic and let us forget about me.

No you don’t. The older I get the more important it is to manage pain and leave some in the tank. Also, make sure you NEVER, EVER, watch any Rocky movie while you are training. You’ll hurt for days and days.

Don’t put yourself down dude. You are just a little skinny, that’s it. First, the good news is that it is waaaay better toe be skinny than fat. Second, you’re lifts aren’t bad at all. If you look at the big numbers here look at the people and how long they have been training. Push has been training longer than I have been alive. I have been training some odd 20 years and I am still ashamed of my lifts.
Everything problem you got is very fixable. If you break your self implemented chains I guarantee an xtra 10 KG on every lift with in a month easy.

Start by frying yourself up an extra reindeer patty for breakfast tomorrow

I just can’t stand to see people put themselves down…

Indeed, you saw what I saw…
What, that I do quarter squats? I actually like them better because you can go so much heavier, they still hit your legs hard, and there’s less risk of injury.

So put down the popcorn and post your stats already.
FL,

Why don’t you lighten the weight and go ass to grass with squats ? If you want to argue foolishness of risk of injury, the half squat is the most dangerous since it full stretches ligaments and opens the knee capsule altogether.

Please don’t wink at me either. Fucking creepy.
Good suggestion, I’ll try that.
I’ll second that. The most pain I ever felt squatting was from 1/4 squats. The ability to over load puts you at the greatest risk of injury. Actually, the only time I felt pain from squatting was doing quarter squats…

I will take your words to my hearth pat and I will make myself a big breakfest tomorow, I dont know what reindeer patty is, but I guess a omelet of six eggs and some slices of bread and butter will do the trick.

Military Press - 7 x 145
Deadlift - 5 x 245
Bench - 8 x 145
Squat - 8 x 255
DB - 30 x 40#
