Punks: Nate Green and Kevin Larrabee

I personally feel that these two guys are going to be the future of this site. Despite both being in their early 20s, they are already writing articles for some of the top industry sites and magazines. It is also my understanding that they both have aligned themselves with some of the most respected writers and trainers as well. I’m interested where both of these guys will be in 10-15 years.

What are everyones thoughts on these two youngens contributing articles to T-Nation?

Is anyone aware of any other up and coming writers/trainers that embrace the Testosterone philosophy?

What is the “Testosterone philosophy” ?

The intelligent and relentless pursuit of muscle, obviously.

Hmmm… What great things have they done thus far? Haven’t really followed these guys.

Nate Green - Written articles for T-Nation, Men’s Fitness, Men’s Health. His first book “Built for Show” is due in bookstores soon.

Kevin Larrabee - Host of thefitcast.com (if you haven’t heard of this podcast you gottta check it out, weekly interviews with some of the top coaches in the field), written articles for T-Nation and Elitefts.com, I believe he is currently interning at Cressey Performance.

I’m not saying that these guys are writing groundbreaking training methodologies or training the top athletes in the world, but from what they have done so far it seems like they have the potential and motivation to do so one day.

I think it’s great that two guys so young are actually making INTELLIGENT marks in our little sect/subculture. Too many ‘punks’ mouth off with no real knowledge to backup anything. Are they making earth shattering realizations? No,… at least not yet, but I actually read their articles and usually nod my head (and rub my chin) in agreement.

Now here’s the big question: How do I get to where they’re at? :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously… how do you get that connected?

Why don’t you just ask them? (seriously)

contact people who are leaders in the industry and develop a professional relationship with them. Networking, like you would in any other field.

I like Nate’s work so far. He seems to have a head on his shoulders and writes some good stuff.

Read everything you can get your hands on, take out loans to fly across the country to dozens of seminars, meet people and be confident but humble, keep in touch, cold-call magazines, submit articles and get used to receiving rejection notices, read a lot more, practice what you preach, lift heavy stuff, read some more, travel some more, pay it forward, continue to practice what your preach, know your strengths, don’t bullshit anybody, and wash TC’s gym shorts.

That about covers it.

Networking is possibly the most important thing, the old adedge “its not what you know its who” rings true, look around the net and see the amount of terrible articles there are on the net for example “bodycoughbrrururding.com

I had to submit alot of stuff and revise it for the reader base, before urbanfreeflow.com started putting my stuff up. Because im a strength coach at heart not a prize winning author (i had to learn to snap out of science style writing). So obviously learning to write well is very important.

T-Nation obviously has standards and good and ambitious guys like Nate and Kevin will rise to the top.

Yo Nate i just bought ur book and i wanted to let u know i read the whole thing in a day…Couldn’t put it down. Way good, i even found myself laughing a couple of times! You totally called me out w/ my chest-back/bi-tri/leg-shoulder split as well of some other aspects…I couldn’t help help but smile. Keep up the good work! i’ll be followin ur work.

Being “Built for Show” is part of the “Testosterone philosophy”?
