Just popped into say look good in the new avi.
I haven’t seen Pumping Iron, heard of it many times of course, time to find it and watch it. Actually much of the “history” of BB I’ve learned here reading posts by you, ID etc. Makes it amazing to follow and watch.
Does anyone know the name of the restaurant that was apparently near Gold’s in Venice that all the bodybuilders would go to after training?
I’m not even sure it was in the movie, I haven’t watched it since about 1993, but I know I saw it somewhere, maybe on the Travel&Living channel or something.
The extras were great but I really wanted more, especially knowing how much footage they must have had of Arnold training which is kind of a rarity, and something a lot of people would love to see.
We see him doing some DB flyes, and a set of T-bar rows, and some squats… concentration curls… but other than that you really have to hunt through the extras for more (2 seconds of barbell rows, 2 seconds of seated presses, more db flyes…), and there isn’t much. Many of the most notable pictures of Arnold training came from the set of Pumping Iron, so I can only imagine what kind of training footage they’re sitting on that the world would really like to see.

I don’t know if its the same place but a while ago I was watching this video on bb.com and mentioned the firehouse restaurant which is a block away from golds. It has a special bodybuilders menu, if I ever was in the area I would definitely eat there.

Thanks Xander. Appreciate it. : )
You MUST see it - it’s a staple for bodybuilders. You can pic up the special anniversary edition DVD for like 20 bucks - has the movie and all the extras. Well worth it.

Thanks! I’m pretty sure that’s the one!
I also agree that I’d love to see a video that was all about Arnold’s workout one day. See him walk in, shoot the shit, train, and well, we don’t need the shower, but I’d like to see what he ate after.
This is the sort of thing I’d only admit here on T Nation.

Nice, I’m digging that menu. You gotta love a restaurant that caters to bodybuilders. They even have buffalo on the menu!
Yea - I love that they actually have a section of the menu just for Bodybuilders. : )

Absolutely, that would be very, very cool to watch.

I would definitely buy a DVD of all the outtake training footage of those guys - that shit is bodybuilding history GOLD!
