Vid with commentary at the end

First day going from the floor in about 6 weeks, PR without knee wraps. I realize my back was pretty rounded…should be better next week.

LOL. Been there plenty of times, my man.

Pulled 540 at the meet today. No vid, but it will be in official writing soon enough. Finally totaled elite. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to bathe in icy hot.

good work in here last couple of days. Congrats BL

Deads
134
135+40lbs of chains
225+40
275+40
315+40
365+40
405+40
455+40
405+60lbs of chains
405+60
405+60

I know there are people I still have to add, and I’ll either take gritiron off the board, or put him first, it is up to you.

Front squats
bar
95
135
185
205x5
240x5
270x2 FAIL - shut it down early, light headed

I chocked myself out on either the 135 or 95 set. Literal cough and loss of air. After that I kept getting light headed. I am a total dumbass. I had no idea, but that slight stupid flub up would ruin the rest of my night

Deads (chains were two sets doubled up and one long, so I figure like 47-50lbs.)
225
225+47
275+47
315+47
365+47
405+47
455+47
505+47x0 fail, I should have known, It broke the floor, but 3 inches up and it tanked.

First time ever using a belt on anything. I don’t even know if I wore it right. I was blacking out after the reps of 405 & 455. Once I broke the floor with 505 I went black, lol. I feel like my technique got a touch better here… At least I hope so, lol

I don’t know if the belt messes up my breathing or it was my stupidity with FS, but I called the night there. Just a shit day all around really.

This shit feel to page 4…

Couple days until I’m out of my rascal scooter, then I’ll show y’all.

I can’t take the blame for the thread droppin…its deload time until the meet Sunday…will have a nice little 250 kg video to post when I return!

Nice work on the 455+chains video Beanie…the form looks a ton better than last week’s vids. You kept the bar much closer to your body and didn’t double over with it…

Thanks

Let me ask you a question or two:

I laid the 7lb (this is an estimate) out in front of me, so it would pull the bar away from me as I rose. This, at least in my head will help me pull back… Is this dumb or not? Because if my mind is not full of shit, which it may be, I can use the help.

I’ve never really thought of doing that. I think this sounds fine at lower weights to teach form, but at heavier weights I personally wouldn’t risk it as the chance of injury is much higher…

I think there are probably better ways to teach form…pulling against bands would probably be a better option…

Sorry Beans Im also deloading after my pr last week. I don’t deadlift at all on my deload.

As for the chain being in front of you thing… You’re path is constant regardless of where you put the chains and the chains are only moving straight down via gravity. Since they’re not applying any forward force — unless your chains are magical — than I don’t know why it would make any sense that by placing them in front of you they would have any forward pull associated with them.

On the other hand your form was a lot better so whatever you gotta do mentally to keep doing the same form I’d go for.

This does not check to chart with actual physics…since the chains are out in front, and touching the ground, they are exerting a force in that direction. Your statement wouldn’t be true even if they didn’t touch the ground since the swinging changes the center of gravity in a dynamic manner.

Add me to the list if you want lol im at 585 right now

A free-body diagram is the only way to resolve this dispute.

Boom! This should settle it.

10/26/11 Deadlift day.

VIDEO:

Warmups.
Cleans: up to 291 for a single.

Deads: The numbers are all off here because I left the 15 kilo bumpers on. I also demonstrated one spectacular failure at simple addition.

what it should have been:
320X5
370X5
420X5+

What it actually was:
341X5
381X5
431X10

Felt good, though breathing was a bit of a problem past rep 5.

Chins:

BDW X 5
+50X5
+75X3
BDW X10 for 3 sets

Blast strap ab fallouts

3X10

Leg press:

5 plates a side plus EFS back bands
3X15

Ok, I will add all of my subsequent deadlift days into the mix in an effort to keep shit rolling. Nice lifting all around folks.

Also:

Every tall fucker with long arms: I HATE YOU!!!
