I’ve noticed a trend lately where most of the cycles posted either include Proviron or get recommended to include it. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t recall this being the case on past threads.
Anyway, because it wasn’t talked about so much in the past, a couple of points of clarification are appreciated:
Suppressive? In some threads I have seen it written that it is very suppresive on doses of even 25mg per day, but in others, people say it’s too weak to be very supressive even at higher doses. Which is the right answer?
Dosage. Again, some debate, where I have seen people told to take 50-100mg per day while others say that 25mg is more than enough. Perhaps the difference is based on the person’s size, cycle, etc. Once again, what is the right answer?
Again, with all the recent popularity, I thought some of the vets could clear up some of the contradictions. Thanks in advance.
Agreed. Personally I like and choose to run Proviron when I run Test and Deca together [my favor stack and what I’m on now]. I only use 25mg’s ED myself and I was 235-240 when I started my most recent cycle. I like proviron for libido support as well as mid-grade estrogen control. The main factor that keeps me from using 50mg’s+ is probably cost. I’m paying almost $1 per 25mg pill.
If you are LH repressed or shutdown with the other gear in a cycle, then proviron can’t push LH below zero. So for most cycles, there is no issue. Proviron might interfere with PCT for some. But PCT can be done in many different ways and one can’t generalize without addressing use or not-use of AI, SERM HCG.
Proviron lowers the effects of SHBG and has some ability to lower E or E effects. With larger amounts of aromatizing gear, more proviron will be needed to deal with the resulting E pressures that increase SHBG. So dose requirements do change with the demands of the cycle. That is rather simplistic, read up to get a bigger picture.
I guess that many would try the smaller doses and then find out if more solved any libido issues. The resulting shift in hormone balances that results in improved libido effects, probably has anabolic benefits as well. So libido might be a very good guide to dosing from an anabolic point of view.
And as with all things like this, individual responses will vary and hard and fast dosing rules are should be seen as guidelines to be intelligently refined as needed.
Great answers all around, thanks. I had never even considered price as a reason I hadn’t seen it in many cycles until recently. I just figured the weak nature was the reason folks looked elsewhere to get the best bang for their buck.
Curious though that more people seem to include it these days. Might be that darn peer pressure I keep hearing about. Thanks again…

Its effects on the SHBG would be the only reason I would take it. It is not THAT anti-estrogenic, and is not THAT androgenic.
I prefer masteron, but that is just me.

RJ:
Does masteron have the similar libido effects as proviron? Since I am not prone to gyno or hair loss, like the idea of a libido increase and just want to keep my nuts producing test, I was going to use proviron in my next cycle. That being said (my personal reasons), you think proviron or masteron?

I use it on test cycles because of how it makes me feel. I liked the feeling of it, and I definitely liked the sexual side effects of the proviron.

Thanks; I’m gonna roll with it. Just realized I wasn’t paying attn to much detail…Masteron is not exactly synonymous with Proviron, lol; The way RJ phrased it made me think it was an AE or AI, now I see it is a derivative of dht (never used it) - my bad.
