Proud of My Girl

I have to post this because she has about 2 posts in her name in the last 2 years.

This past weekend my girl, me and a few friends did the AAU Cabin Fever Meet in MASS.

I was lucky enough to be the boyfriend of the 105lb RAW Junior lifter 1st place recipient. Woo!!! She made the “junior” class by about a week lol.

Her lifts:
Squat: 130lbs
Bench: 95lbs
Deadlift: 215lbs

This was also her first meet, and first time wearing her singlet.

She was a bit nervous when she saw the room that were the platform was; but after that first squat; she was fine and did Great.

That was a qualifying meet for Nationals this april; and she wants to beat some records then.

There were a few other ladies there lifting; and it was AWESOME to see them there lifting with the guys!!

Good for her. You should be proud of her. I don 't suppose she ended up sharing your singlet did she?

haha; thankfully no.

it was tough for me because the way the flights were set up. her flight was lifting while mine was warming up.

so i’d be in warming up, she’d run into the room and yell “i’m up next!”

and now she wants to break some records for AAU and/or USAPL. it’s addicting.

That’s pretty cool man, good for her (and, subsequently, you).

That’s awesome! She is already doing great!!! DL-ing 2x her body weight already? CRAZY!! Tell her to keep up the good work! Congrats!

Tell her congrats!

Keep us posted on her next meet in April!

Very cool. Congrats to her. Good choice for you.

Nicely done!

How many times have I warned people that lifting heavy is addicting??

If she wants some more experience, give this a try.

TNT

Great Job. So she will be lifting at Collegiates in Baton Rouge in March?

Heavy lifting is very addicting. Heck I am hooked.

Woot!! That’s crazy that she can DL that much! Awesome!!!

Hey BR, tell your girl great job.
Try and get her to start posting over here, we can always use another powerful woman!

Outstanding!! Good for her and kudos to you for being so proud and sharing her story and picture!!

Firebug: Collegiates in Baton Rouge? That’s only 2 1/2 hours from where I’m sitting right now. Depending on the day, I’m hoping to drive over and watch. Would love to shake some T-Nation hands over there!

Not sure I will be there, have this whole chemo thing going right now ;-). Normally I would be there to help out by judging, but I am thinking I am out this time around.

Thanks for the kind words everyone; she read this thread last night and was pleasantly surprised.

Firebug; I think that she’s gonna do Nationals in RI in April and then another USAPL meet in Rochester, NY in August. At least those are her plans right now. She found that the USAPL record for her class is 264 for deadlift…so she’s aiming to beat that; soon.

We’re both doing some strongman/woman stuff this summer too…for fun. God I love it. (it = her)

The Nationals in April must be with another federation? At any rate Good Luck to you both.

It’s lucky for you that I’m so far away, or would totally GF-jack your ass. She’s hot.

Seriously, though, that’s impressive. Good for her–she probably outlifts many on these forums.
