ok, I swear I spelled protein correctly in the title
I wonder if it would have made a difference if they controlled for an insulin spike with fast carbs coupled with protein timing as opposed to no insulin spike. In other words, I wonder whether the subjects were just supplementing protein in the study and whether it would have made a difference if they coupled the protein with, for example, waxy maize.

Or if they used a different protein. I’m fairly sure my recovery has been better when using hydrolysed casein pre/during/post workout (along side carbs) than it was when I was just using whey/carbs post.
