Some people use a protein shake (or maybe its one of Biotest’s fine energy/workout supplements) during their workout like say 1/2 way through. I’ve been thinking about doing that myself but I want to weigh the pros and cons.
Whats the benefit of using a shake during your workout besides time (i live like 30seconds away from my gym) and i guess an energy boost? Do you take a shake after your workout too? Does it noticeably improve your performance?
I use to drink a whey shake while I lifted but after trying a few different things I found I really like the combo of Surge pre/post wo and some BCAA during. If I was rich I’d probobly do 2 scoops Surge before and after but untill i win the lottery ill stick to 1 scoop each. Experiment, everyone is different gota find what works for you.
I also agree that everyone is different. I always hear people say never eat a solid meal right before working out but I can’t put in a decent workout unless I have something in my stomach. I eat about 80g worth of carbs from oatmeal and 30g worth of protein from eggs right before I workout. During my workouts, I sip on a protein(25g) and dextrose(75g) shake.
For postworkout, I drink something similar except with added creatine, ALA, and BCAA. Never had bloating problems whatsoever. My workouts are about 2 hours long mainly because I take long rest periods and I don’t feel any decrease energy level as long as I rest long enough.
