I have a bit of a pickle here. Many mass gain diets have been hailing protein ice cream as the next best thing since lifting. The problem is, there are no retailers who stock protein ice cream in my country (here’s a business opportunity for fitrepreneurs). So, if I melt a tub of regular ice cream, add a ton of protein to it, blend it and then re-freeze it, will it count as an equivalent to specialised protein ice cream?
Refrozen ice cream, without adding anything, has never seemed as good as the original ice cream. Perhaps because of the loss of air that is whipped into the ice cream.
Personally I’d instead try drinking a separate protein shake along with, or before, or immediately after the ice cream.
It’s very easy to make. My wife and I do it all the time. Take a normal protein shake and put it in an ice cream maker, takes 25 minutes. My standard recipe is:
3 cups unsweetened almond milk
4 scoops Metabolic Drive protein powered of choice
A few stevia packets
Put in ice cream maker for 25-30 minutes, done, delicious, no carb protein ice cream! Add some raw nuts if you’re feeling it.

Try ben and jerry’s frozen yogurt, phish food and cherry garcia are my favorites. 32g protein in the standard sized tubs and not that bad for you. good for cheat day

I love both of those especially the phish food. But the calories are still kind of on the high end especially the sugar/carb content. But yeah for cheat meals theyre great.
