can a protein drink replace breakfast if your to busy to make it or is they any good meal replacments for starting your day[/quote]
Steaming some fish (I usually have cod fish in the mornings) can be done quite quickly as well and while it probably won’t match a protein shake for protein content you can consider that option too.
Also you could consider sleeping earlier and waking up earlier too and make a good breakfast of whole foods.

How can it not match protein content?
Any protein source can be adjusted in units of measurement to match protein content of another item.
There are seven grams of protein in each ounce of meat (fish, poultry, beef, and pork).
So if a protein shake has 35 grams of protein for two scoops of protein powder, I can match this amount by consuming 5 oz of fish.

actually thats not allowed.
the rule of “no shakes in the morning for breakfast” has another rule of “only 1 or 2 servings, no more no less”
so you are wrong, please leave with the OP to bodybuilding.com where they have REAL information!
I always have a Metabolic Drive with Leucine and some fish oil for breakfast. fast, easy, tasty and has all i need in it.

In my 1st year of weight training I had a shake consisting of 16oz milk, 2 scoops of whey and a banana or peanut butter for breakfast every single day. I gained 40 lbs and my bench went up 100 lbs. So I’d say yes.
Saw this study this morning.
“More evidence that eating protein early in the day reduces food consumption in subsequent meals.”

Sorry, that is true. I’ll just say I can’t stomach 5oz of fish in the morning
(only introduced fish into my diet after meeting my wife, before that I never really ordered/ate fish). Scrambled eggs + cod fish is pretty standard nowadays for breakfast with a half handful of nuts. Apart from fish I’ve tried grilled chicken and pork chop but again I can’t really stomach that so early in the morning so fish and eggs work well.
I would wake up 20 minutes earlier. It takes 10 minutes to whip up an omlette with turkey and asparagus bits in it. Keep protein shakes for pre and post workouts, and for emergency situations.

Dude, who says you have to eat fish because I gave an example with fish involved?
You can have whatever protein you want in the morning - sausage, egg whites, eggs, protein powder, cottage cheese, ham, steak, Greek yogurt, or combination of any of these.

For you and anyone else: In my view it’s mandatory to have something solid as soon as you wake up. It helps to get your metabolism/digestion going for the day; the earlier you “wake up” your metabolism, the better it is for your physique.
Of course, you can do it the American way and instead of having real food, mix some fiber powder into your shake.

This is false.
Protein drink?
No
Creatine in pill form, yes.
