Protein First: Power Waffles

by Chris Shugart

Breakfast With a Bang

These waffles have 33 grams of protein each, no added sugar, and they're flour-free. The taste? Damn good.

Focus on protein and the rest of your diet autoregulates and pretty much takes care of itself. We call it the Protein First Eating Strategy and it works for just about everyone, no matter their goals.

Studies also show that people who eat a high-protein breakfast are better able to control their eating habits throughout the day. So start your morning with these protein-packed waffles. Or heck, have two for dinner. No one can stop you.

Letā€™s watch Dani whip up a couple using MD Protein (Buy at Amazon):

Ingredients

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 large banana
  • 2 scoops vanilla MD Protein (Buy at Amazon)
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mash one banana.
  2. Add all the other ingredients and stir.
  3. Let the batter sit for 3 minutes to soften to oats.
  4. Add batter to pre-heated waffle iron and let it rip.

Hereā€™s a variation:

  1. Switch the vanilla MD Protein to chocolate MD Protein.

  2. Toss in some 100% cocoa bits (chopped baking bar).
