Protein Bars For The Anabolic Diet?

I need to find a protein bar that would be acceptable on the Anabolic Diet. I’m going to be logging long days as a volunteer for a high school football team and I’m going to need to eat at least 1 bar a day, so I want to find one that’s a high protein, high fat bar, with little to no carbs.

Does anyone know of a particular bar that might meet my needs?

Thanks

I don’t think there is one. Personally, I would shoot for a low carb shake like low carb Metabolic Drive or Iso Pure with a tablespoon or two of olive oil, flax oil, flax meal, etc for your fat. I wouldn’t risk a bar, too much crap in them. I couldn’t find one suitable for the AD.

Actually, that’s not a damn bad idea!

Eat food, not ready made bars. Beef jerky, nuts, etc.

Nope.

Make your own. From John Berardi:

Chocolate Metabolic Drive + natty pb + flax meal + water. Form bars in plastic wrap, throw 'em in the freezer.

FWIW, I made some today with GNC chocolate whey, and it didn’t turn out well - way too bland.

Another version, with cream instead of flax, can be found at:

String cheese is a great choice
