Proof that Diet Soda Causes Obesity

I can’t find the thread, but last week people were blaming Diet Coke for “metabolic syndrome.” Here’s a great demonstration of Diet Coke causing another person to suffer such an affliction. We must ban the stuff - and fast.

my rebuttal!

AHahah, what a perfectly balanced meal.

wow im hooked on diet now Epimetheus.

I’m gonna have to side with Epimetheus on this one.

I’d prefer HER reBUTTal.

So, Drink diet coke= obesity. Hmmmm, if you drink diet coke, that makes you stop working out. Oh, ok.

Isn’t she just bulking?

The sad thing about it is, I’ll bet a lot of the stuff on her plate is subsidized by American taxpayers. We’re actually helping her to slowly kill herself and she doesn’t even realize it.

Just wait until her ilk start hitting medicare/aid - and the healthcare system in general. We’ll be subsidizing that lifestyle of hers yet again.

I hope you were being sarcastic. It’s more like, obese people drink diet coke, not the other way around.

Diet cokes drink obese people? Man, things are even more sinister than I suspected.

Yea, it’s a problem. :stuck_out_tongue:

Apparently celery is linked to anorexia.

I think the idea is that people who drink diet soda think its ‘ok’ or ‘enough’ to do to lose weight.

No doubt that’s true. Ya hafta wonder, though, why they don’t notice when it isn’t doing the trick?

“I’ll have 2 packages of Whoppers, a large popcorn with extra butter, a box of Dibs, some pretzels with cheese, and a diet coke.”

Stand at the snack counter at a movie theater and you’ll hear something like this at least once every 5 minutes.

If it doesn’t work it’s only because they have a disorder. They can’t help it, ok? Give 'em a break.

The need to “hate” fat people is just as strange as the need for fat people to claim it is a “disorder”.

I still dont know why people here hate fat people. I was fat from when i was a toddler. By bodybuilding standards, I’m still fat (i’m not ripped, oy). Yet when i see all these 185lb ripped mass monsters out, they never say such things to my face. Odd. When Dave Tate was heavier, I never saw anyone walk up to him and call him fatty or whatever. Odd.

Anyway, even if im eating a “cheat” meal, I still get a diet soda. Regular just makes me throw up from the syrup. Maybe thats why some of these people do that…or maybe they just dont want to go completely crazy. I dont know…dont care.

There are VERY few people on this site who’ve won high level BB comps or won an olympic medal or been WSM or won the IPF Worlds or whatever…so why are so many taking such delight in calling people fat?

Mayabe because many can’t call themselves big, or even built.

I think people are just calling a spade a spade: she is indeed obese, and this is most likely due to her habits and lifestyle, at least in large part.

Is this unkind? I don’t think so. Perhaps it’s far kinder than pretending otherwise (either that she’s not obese; or that it just “happened.”)

I, for one, would never run up to anyone and call them fat. Not because I’m afraid they’ll sit on me, but because I think that would be a very cruel thing to say. However, I do think it’s extremely important that we face this problem as a nation and stop making excuses for it. And, at least in some circles, stop denying it.

I spent two years in Guatemala and got far away from mainstream america, etc. - and when I returned, I have to admit, I was rather shocked by the obesity in display at American malls and so on. It is repulsive to be a witness to this, especially after spending two years among children who are malnourish and nearly starving. I ask you this in all seriousness (as there have been many threads on this theme) - am I supposed to pretend otherwise?

HA HA I’ve been waiting to use this.
