Coach, if the entire philosophy is to become more alkaline is there any benefit to adding the baking soda to the peri workout nutrition?

I actually tried it. And sodium bicarbonate can also buffer lactic acid, which is positive. Im not sure how it would interact with PLAZMA’s ingredients which is why I have no pursued it further before I kno the answer

I just ran out of plazma and have been using mag-10 until my next order.

If plazma was 10 (1-10) on scale of effectiveness how would you rank the following for pre/intra:

  1. Mag-10 (like 6-10 scoops)
  2. Surge workout fuel
  3. Surge Recovery
  4. Gatordate + aminos
  5. Chocolate milk

I wont rank them because it’s hard to know exactly how effective each one is in stimulating protein synthesis. The best alternative if you Don’t have PLAZMA would be mixing MAG-10 and Workout Fuel. Second best would be using Surge Recovery.

Makes sense…
No hate on chocolate milk? (:

What could I say that hasn’t already been said 1000x?

Hi Coach,

Just wanted to say keep up the good work, you are the reason why I keep coming back to T nation as I always learn something new from your contributions.

Hi Coach,

Any updates on this? Just curious as to whether you have made any significant changes to your diet/supplement and workout routine and of course how you have been getting along progress-wise.

Well I got the leanest I’ve been in years about 9 weeks ago for a photo shoot. I went down to 202 then went back up to 215 without losing much definition. However these past 5 weeks have been much harder since I gave 4 seminars in 4 different countries… travelling a lot, staying in hotels, far from ideal training conditions and straying away a bit from my diet (this week is the only place where I have a kitchen in my hotel room to cook). Tried to stick with my diet as much as I could. Used a lot of Superfood to compensate. I think that all things considered I stayed in decent shape, about 212 and the same leanness as I was at 215. Coming back home in 4 days for about 6 weeks so I’ll be able to get back to optimal conditions soon.

Excellent stuff, well done! I certainly can appreciate how life can get in the way sometimes. Have the photoshoot pics been published yet? I remember your pics from back in the day in some sort of holiday scenery, if you managed to beat that I’d love to see the results.

We are at a similar bodyweight (96 kg), but that is where similarities end  You sir are A: leaner; B: smaller (height wise of coourse, 176-7 cm if I memory serves). Inspirational.

Out of curiosity, do you often use things like Z12 or rhodiola for relaxation purposes? Still taking glycine and taurine at night for better sleep quality?

And, will you be coming to Belgium at any point to give a seminar?

I will likely be in Belgium, I have been contacted about that already.

The pics have nor been published yet. At 40 (in a month) I’m not as large as when I was younger (heaviest while lean was 228) but I focus more on being lean and healthy now.

I do take rhodiola from time to time, mostly during periods of intense stress. I have used Z12 in the past and find it effective but my sleep is naturally really good so I dont really use it.

Great stuff! Is that in Brussels by any chance? It would be great to attend a live seminar with you!

I’m really glad you cleared this up, when I googled “convert 10 grams to teaspoons” the answer came back as 5 teaspoons.

How much water are you putting the 10g of arm and hammer into ?

I am sorry to hear of your health issues, glad you’re ok now
