Progress For Adding Weight

On average, how much weight do you add to your 1RM every month or two? By this I mean how much have you progressed in 1-2 months in 1RM, in general?

Some people say to add 5lbs/week. However, if this worked, then we’d all be lifting roughly ton in 8 years of training.

I’m curious how people here gauge their progress…and wondering what criteria tells you that you are not lifting smartly?

It totaly depends. Bodybuilders don’t add as much weight as power lifters do. Newbs gain more strength than vets, those are just beginer gains though. You really can’t gauge your lifts, there’s just so many things that make everyone differen’t to really care.

WAT to many variables. I wish there was a mgic # but there just isnt and seems to some in spurts.

Just aim to add a LITTLE every time and you are good. In the form of load, volume etc.

Just try and progress. and not stagnate or degress.
