I’ve got a tip for you. Take two weeks off then quit, like you’ve done with your clean&jerk training.
Hitting a 1rm w/o focusing on technique? LOL
With your attitude, I’d never have gotten where I am today.
You have a lot to learn kiddo. Keep hiding behind the internet. I’d say we’d surpass you, but I think most people here don’t need to worry about that.
Get off your high horse kid.
I’m going to give this one last shot with you based on the idea that you are probably a kid having a hard time with life.
You cannot make progress in Olympic lifting without a coach. Period. Your form will be awful, and because it is awful you will not be able to properly gain explosiveness since you will be motor recruitment pattern will be all wrong.
Putting the Olympic lifts aside, you probably don’t have good enough technique on the more basic but still complicated lifts of the squat and the deadlift, either, to really benefit from carefully laid out cycles. You need time under the bar with proper technique. You need to spend some serious time doing beginner and intermediate workouts before you even dream about looking at the Bulgarian training techniques, which are honestly something that will always be outside your reach.
I’ve been training in Olympic lifting for years, and I cannot handle the sort of volume or intensities that are prescribed there. You know why? I don’t have the experience under the bar that they did. Those guys start young (10 or less) and develop great technique before going after great strength. Their technique is next to flawless EVERY lift, because they’ve been doing it forever. Plus, it was a full time job for them, they had tons of recovery agents (including not legal ones), and, as much as I hate to say it, they had better genetics.
Instead of trying to reinvent and complicated the wheel, you should find some beginner programs and follow them. The people who have written them ABSOLUTELY know more than you do. Just by some of the ignorance you have displayed, its VERY obvious that you are very much a beginner, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Go be a beginner. Its a fun time! Stop trying to rush into being some sort of advanced lifter.

Please pretend that I am not training as an olympic weightlifter. Just some guy who wants to squat big… There you go. Maybe this time you’ll quit bugging me about getting a coach.

I was only talking about the simpler movements like their power and hang variations. I’ll get a coach as soon as I can. As of right now, I’ll do things my way… cause, just like I said a million times, I can’t afford to get a coach YET!!
99% OF OLYMPIC LIFTING COACHES DO NOT CHARGE ANYTHING. NOTHING. ESPECIALLY TO A KID WHO HAS NO MONEY BUT WANTS TO LEARN. FOR FUCK’S SAKE WE HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU THIS FOR 2 WEEKS. THERE ARE 4 CLUBS IN OREGON. PICK ONE AND SHUT THE FUCK UP.

The real me says yes, but since I respect you guys (you all deserve respect!!), I will pretend to be humble and say…
I’m a loser, I suck, I don’t know how to do them, and there’s absolutely no way for me to learn them without getting a coach…
Please appreciate my humility. It takes a shitload of effort for my to swallow my ego… For God’s sakes, I’m choking right now…
Back to the discussion… What do you think of the GTG principle?

Where’s a good mod when you need one?
Please end this insanity now.
Where in Oregon do you live? If you live in the Eugene area get a hold of Tom Hirtz. Tom is one of the best coaches on the west coast–all the other clubs in Oregon are Portland based and are a fucking joke. There is one club in Portland though which may be worth your time and is ran in an MMA gym–http://www.impactjj.com/.
If you actually want to learn how to lift get a hold of Tom. I would bet money you would not be able to handle a week of training there.

This.
My coach gave me shoes, a t-shirt, and I haven’t paid my annual fees yet. God I feel so bad.

x2. This IS better than American Idol. It’s kind of mysterious because I can’t see what TYPE2B writes, so I have to read only replies.

You’re not missing anything.

Do it.
Post a training log. Listen to advice. Review how your progress is going.
Theoretical questions and answers are no replacement form getting under a bar and consistently lifting heavy stuff for a 8-12 week period to see how you respond.
Rest.
Repeat.
Review.[/quote]
Why can’t everybody be as awesome as you!!! (…except for Invictica, Maraudermeat, and Koing. They’re awesome too.)
Why do people keep suggesting he get a coach? You think someone would put up with this asshole longer than 5 minutes? He wouldn’t listen to the coach, he wouldn’t respect the coach (wouldn’t matter who it was), he’d ask his ridiculous questions and shit all over the place.
