Just a update,moving slowly,but I’m really excited to see the scale going up weekly,I’m around 167-168 now.I have done a 531 3 month and now on 531 simplest strength,I’m going to keep on cycling it till I start to stall,I know you shouldn’t screw with programs but I have stoped doing squats and I’m doing f squat,b split squats,r lunges,and hip thrust instead,I’m also doing trap bar deads,I was having some hip and back issues so I needed to change a few things to keep going.
I was reading some stuff yogi wrote about his routine,all the heavy stuff seems to always set me back,I need to focus on progressing but also staying healthy and picking exercise that work for me.heres a recent pic,can’t tell much differance but all my numbers are going up.

Did your squat go up?
I haven’t done a conventional deadlift since discovering the dead squat. Love the movement and very friendly for my back. I’ve also done something similar for the squats. Staying healthy is always goal number 1 for me. I do mini cycles to make sure my back stays healthy. I also prefer the front squat to back squat. Ill never compete in a strongman competition, so it is not a priority.
If you stall, are you going to do the 5/3?
Front squats,split squats,bench,press,t bar deads,close grip bench,incline are all still going up,getting harder but still moving,I just had to lay off on heavy squats,hip and back were brothering me along with head aches,some time the deads give me a little headache from compression I’m thinking but I’m just tryin to lift smart,I also bought a prowler and push it 2 times per week to keep the chub down.
