(Prog )Trance/House

Does anybody here like Trance? Since its kind of difficult to label what Trance really is Ill post some DJs;Ferry Corsten,Armin van Buuren,Above and Beyond,Markus Schulz,Kyau and Albert,Tiesto,Gareth Emery. Feel free to post your favorite tunes on this thread and please feel free to post upcoming shows. For the Houston area…Gareth Emery is coming to Stereo Live(Bar Rio)on February 19. Btw,Jay Cutler is a huge fan FYI.

OMGOMOGMGOMGGOMGOG a fellow trance/prog listener. Dude you should totally check out http://releases.mp3-tunes.nl/frontpage/ . People post the scene releases and we all give our opinions on the tracks. The site is kinda dead just cause all the assholes just want to download the songs and not give there thoughts about it.

Markus Schulz new Album compilation just dropped this week. Las Vegas '10 fucken excited to give it a full listen. My favorite track from the complition is - YouTube .

And i never knew Jay Cutler was a fan. Were did you hear that he was a fan?

I haven’t updated my Trance collection in a few years now, everything I got is way old. When it comes to Trance though, it’s either progressive or I like the really complicated more orchestral sounding stuff. Love ittt

Same as Rattler, basically. The Trance songs I really like are from a whiiile ago, I get the feeling sometimes that they stopped making the kind of sounds I like. My two favorites:

This video sounds weird because they sped the track up. It’s actually over 11 minutes long. I guess they wanted it to fit on youtube.

Deadmau5 gives me hope, though.

I used to be very into trance,I’d still be into Armin,he’s brilliant.I’m mainly into hardstyle and gabber at the moment though, showtek in particular.

Yep. Armin Van Buuren, Daniel Kandi, Above and Beyond/Oceanlab. Make sure to listen to A State of Trance and Trance Around the World if you’re into trance

Wow,thanks alot Ill be sure to check it out. Usually I listen to AboveandBeyonds radio station at http://www.trancearoundtheworld.com/ and write down the songs I like from a playlist and downlaod it off of Piratebay but this is alot easier. Thanks again! I learned that Jay Cutler was a fan from an interview of Muscle and Fitness magazine. I was suprise as you are. (article-http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0KFY/is_10_22/ai_n7581387/pg_2/)

Btw,heres a tidbit for all you trance fans. If your intrested in concerts in your local area, visit http://fla.vor.us/groovetickets and there will be a listing of DJs coming to your area. This site is specifically listed for Fans like us so they are the ones to go for for info on concerts and Trance.

Here is a few Tiesto hits from his new album Kaleidoscope that I enjoy(The music video for Teagan & Sara and Sound Systems are amazing!):

Srsly Tiesto stop making/playing trance long time ago. Calling what Tiesto and Armin make Trance is blasphemy lol, but to each his own i guess…

from the Netherlands with love

I like trance but, I couldnt resist

This may be a stupid question but i’m confused about the whole techno, trance, house genre.

I recently listened to ‘pretty lights’ and found it was pretty good but i’m trying to find what club style remixes are under the genre of.

I like most hip hop remixes also, but i’m struggling to find an artist who sticks to one theme. Can anyone reccomend an artist? Or even explain the genre i’m talking about?

ALso, i don’t know what ronald jenkees falls under but his shit is awesome.

I wasnt aware of this thread. Ill ask the mods to combine threads. Thank you for pointing this out.

Just listened to this… would definately roll to this song.

Spyoptic,do you listen to Armin Van Buurens Radio Show or the AboveandBeyond Radio show?

Btw,for you Houstonians Markus Schulz is coming to Bar Rio/Stereo Live THIS Friday. Im going to be there around 11-11:20ish hanging around the sidebar (Like I usually do) so look for the Asian guy.

Yea I skim through podcasts and if a track jumps out I’ll look into it… just got that one off ASoT 445 actually.

other podcasts I like are DJ Sharky, DJ Strobe for electro and Funky House UK for hard, fast trance whatever they call it these days. Got any favs??

what’s the rave scene like down there?

Unbelievably lame. I think people here are still finding an identity here. Last Friday I went to the Gareth Emery concert and I saw a whole slew of people. I saw 2 Happy Hardcore girls dancing into their own little world,I saw a couple of West Coast “Bros”,I saw a couple of…I dont even know how to describe these guys…they are a cross between the Bikers from “Akira” and the girls from “Suicide girls” and I saw a Guido.

A GUIDO IN FUCKING TEXAS.(And this guy was the epitome of sterotypical Gudios. Extreme Ve Neck, completely juices and tans,Blowout hair, plucked eyebrows…Funny on tv,frightning IRL) It was a smaller than usual crowd that night though, usually there are more than enough characters when Armin or Benny Benassi comes. It kinda weird though because I always end up seeing the same people at different concerts and Raves.

Theres this girl I nickname “Big Red” A hot, amazonian red head. I swear to God though, her heels strike oil whenever she dances. Shes like 6’3.

To answer your question,I like the typical big names of Trance and House. Im like you,if I see a smaller, unknown ill pick them up on that one song and thats it. Where are you from and how is your scene?

I prefer electro.

I started with techno/trance, and progressed into HARDSTYLE. Basically, trance with a faster beat and heavier bassline.

check out this thread I started a while ago: Forums - T Nation - The World's Trusted Community for Elite Fitness

Want some sick trance? Listen to Umek - Posing as me, Umek - Is it?, Markus Schulz - The New World, Ernesto vs Bastian - Thrill (this one is insane), Swedish House Mafia - Leave the world behind Extended version, Faithless - Insomnia, Faithless - We come 1. All of these songs are prtty nasty. Oh and Markus Schulz Toronto Part 2 found on itunes is ridiculous
