I started with techno/trance, and progressed into HARDSTYLE. Basically, trance with a faster beat and heavier bassline.

check out this thread I started a while ago: Forums - T Nation - The World's Trusted Community for Elite Fitness
Sorry bro,I respect your taste but I dont think I can get into something that…“Intense” as far as electronic music goes. I dont see it gaining steam here. Where do you live to have Hardstyle become popular? Lol,I am very curious to see where other fans live and to take note of how their scenes. Texas is known for our hot women but they stray away from this type of music. Maybe Canadian Girls are more accepting or maybe girls from up north?

This band is a great tripping band. The song itself is even better.

Just stumbled on this.
By the way, how do you attach a video from youtube?

ahh, just did

Here is a little prog/trance plug …made this track myself

enjoy

Lots of hot girls in this Video. Benassi is the man.

Edit: I’m going to see him and all the top DJ’s at the Ultra Music festival in Miami :).

More hot chicks and some topless at the end :). AWESOME song to party and drive to as well!

Unbelievably lame. I think people here are still finding an identity here. Last Friday I went to the Gareth Emery concert and I saw a whole slew of people. I saw 2 Happy Hardcore girls dancing into their own little world,I saw a couple of West Coast “Bros”,I saw a couple of…I dont even know how to describe these guys…they are a cross between the Bikers from “Akira” and the girls from “Suicide girls” and I saw a Guido.

A GUIDO IN FUCKING TEXAS.(And this guy was the epitome of sterotypical Gudios. Extreme Ve Neck, completely juices and tans,Blowout hair, plucked eyebrows…Funny on tv,frightning IRL) It was a smaller than usual crowd that night though, usually there are more than enough characters when Armin or Benny Benassi comes. It kinda weird though because I always end up seeing the same people at different concerts and Raves.

Theres this girl I nickname “Big Red” A hot, amazonian red head. I swear to God though, her heels strike oil whenever she dances. Shes like 6’3.

To answer your question,I like the typical big names of Trance and House. Im like you,if I see a smaller, unknown ill pick them up on that one song and thats it. Where are you from and how is your scene?
LOL that sounds like a few of the parties I went to… and I’ve also seen a a hot amazonian chick in LA, could there be two?!! Theres probably a couple thousand people that I don’t talk to but recognize at every rave.

Anyways the scene in LA has changed alot, before you had to call a number the night of the rave, get directions to a parking lot, where shuttles would come and pick up everyone to the party usually in some warehouse. Now, the parties are highly publicized and legal so theres usually a few thousand people that go - bros, emo kids, candy kids, mexicans, asian thugs, people that can pop, B-boys, scene kids, dubstep kids with bandanas on their faces ect…

Do people glowstick or anything at parties out there?

Yeah, the guys I hang with does that sorta stuff when they are rolling. I never roll. Not that i’m not into it but because of the money factor. I go their to enjoy the music, enjoy the scene ,and have fun. We only get big name DJs once a month and there are only 2 places where they like to go 2. Bar Rio,a big, nice place but with the occasional gangsters roaming about and Richs,a overpriced new york style warehouse club that has its head up its ass. I bet L.A. is more fun. More DJ more often and more clubs. And a couple thousand? Thats alot of people and I would say thats awesome scene out there.

Btw,To each their own but I think Benny Benassi is OVERRATED.

Sike!..If anythiing Tiesto is overated and too main stream now. I know Benassi’s tracks tend to sound similar BUT I just love the base…has to be awesome when you are rolling.

Ha this is the sort of thread that outs the poofy sorts that frequent this place.

Has to be the worst form of music since Aphex Twin decided to try and play sandpaper on a technics 1210

Take it from me. I used to DJ in Glasgow which is pretty much the epicentre of techno. Real techno. None of this synth poofiness that guidos like to pump fists to. Shit like DJax, Killa Bite, Axis, Robert Hood, DJ Funk. Most of these cunts are yanks as well so you defo have pumped out some classic shit in your time however cunts like Paul Van Dyke. Give me a fucking break.

Each to their own and all that:-)

DJ’s that I still have on my ipod are

Christopher Lawrence
Paul Oakenfold
Paul Van Dyk

The rest? don’t really pay attention. Those three are my fav’s, don’t really listen to trance much more beyond that

Just wanted to say cool thread. Have always enjoyed trance music, as it just hits me straight in the head like no other music. Never been into the scene or anything though, so these videos are great references for whats good out there. Keep them coming.

Haha DJ magazine has about as much credibility as George Bush in a madrassa. To be honest dirtbag mate we are so far ahead of the game in Glasgow that its not even funny.

I gave up DJing in 2000 mate cos its shite. The way people get worked up over someone mixing records is gives credence to the mantra that is ‘rise of the idiots’

I would pipe down with that highlands chat as well mate. Bordering on racism.

Dear “he who lays down with sheep”

I don’t think it’s “rise of the idiots” it’s more like “people on drugs trying to party”

Once it gets out of your system and you realize that you’re not having a good time, it’s time for you to hang up the club scene and get on with something else. You end up hunting for that “perfect party” that’s never going to happen again. I read what other dudes have written about the happy hardcore girls and whatnot and think I’d be nice to be a part of that again, but fuck man I’m in my mid 30’s, I did that partying when I was young like I was supposed to, there’s no chance in recapturing youth, not in the clubbing capacity at least.

So, you were smart to leave the scene when you did, but I don’t think it’s fair to be hypocritical of the folks who still enjoy themselves or are able to get some pleasure out of the whole scene just because you’re not into it.
