Everybody who complains about ‘their genetic potential’ and saying ‘my frame won’t let me gut hyooge ever’ should really just be directed to this post to end that discussion as quickly as possible.
I was about 95lbs in that picture.

I am guessing Casey Butt would have measured my wrists and told me I couldn’t get big.

Prof X do you think shorter training sessions are the way to go?
i see people in my gym who say they stay for like 2 hours and they look as though a breeze could blow them over.
I have gained 2kg in a month since only training for under an hour.

I also talked to a big guy who was buying supplements at the same time as me and he said he only works out for half an hour or so. He said hormones get out of whack any longer.

What are your thoughts?
I used to get made fun of by one of the guys I used to train with (he posts on this site “jeekeu”) because I was bigger than most of the guys there but I was in and out of the gym in 30min. It would usually take me about 40min total during the entire time I was in the military…but I was also training daily and only doing one body part a day.

I do a little more volume now but that is because my goals are a tad different than all out bulking up to gain the most muscle possible all over.

As far as the “hormone” comment, this is highly individual. I know I am drained after an hour unless I take a break and fuel myself. Using some of the per-nutrition products here allow me to go a little longer, but two hour marathon sessions to me are just unnecessary unless you don’t make it to the gym very often.

I personally put way more value into FREQUENCY than VOLUME…meaning I would expect the guy training 5 days a week to make more progress than the guy training 3…

I am pretty sure that had I tried to “slow gain” or “lean gain” my way from that, I would still be small.

I guess I’m not a genetic freak.
