Hey X, do you think you can look at my pics and tell me what you think I need to work on? I would really appreciate it.
Prof,
I know that you pretty much haven’t done body weight exercises in years due to your weight and alternative exercises.
However, when you did do them, how did you set them up? Did you add extra weight and ramp up the weights or just do a ton of reps at body weight?
Just wondering how you handled things like chins, dips and push ups.
Thanks.

If you add extra weight, they aren’t body weight exercises.
We did pull ups and just increased the number of time we could do them. That was about the only body weight exercise I spent much time doing aside from doing push ups when I was in junior high.
I wouldn’t expect anyone with gym access to waste time on push ups unless they are in the military and being tested on it.
Hello Professor X. I’m not quite sure if this has been asked, but do you have any opinion on doing GOMAD (gallon of milk a day) when wanting to gain weight? If not GOMAD, what do you think of milk in general as a way of gaining weight?

Yeah, milk has been discussed before in this thread. I am not against milk.

I actually gained a little strength on some exercises since I started. I appreciate that. From now on, when people ask, I am “150lbs”.

What are your current measurements… And what weight are you at?
Out of interest Prof, why are you reluctant to share your stats? Did you just get fed up being asked or is there some other reason?
Just curious because it’s natural for people to be inquisitive when they see an impressive physique. It helps to put things in perspective if they can see some stats i.e. they can think ‘I need to weigh x amount at y height if I wanna look lke a beast’.
It’s asking these questions and looking at other peoples stats that has made me realise I need to add at least another 40lbs to look half decent.

For one, the numbers don’t mean as much the bigger you get. Yes, bodybuilding is about size, but it is also about proportions and conditioning. I know I can gain 10lbs in the next 3 days if I just add carbs back in. I know if I do that for more than a week, I’ll put an inch back on my arms. My current body weight doesn’t tell you all of this.
Second, like I wrote before, there are too many idiots on this board who use any stats you do mention and twist them to bring it back up years later or to degrade you. I just had one poster do this because of what I wrote 6 years ago about one patient. They take what is written and twist it. It doesn’t really matter how much I weigh at this point, especially since I have listed much of the entire process in this thread for the last half decade.
I mean, it isn’t like I haven’t pretty much given about all there is if someone was looking for a jump off point.

While that may be the case, stats alone don’t provide you with a full picture at all. There are always outliers. There will be people who weigh 175lbs but look fucking huge. There will be people who weigh 250lbs and don’t look big at all. The numbers themselves won’t help you much, especially since how much I weigh doesn’t even stay the same…ever.

It is truly amazing the transformation you’ve made. I don’t mean this recent diet you did, but throughout your life.
Oh…My… God! -lol. I’ll hafta see what I can dig up in my parents’ basement the next time I’m out visiting. I’m sure people will be amused to see me swimming in Medium Sized Champion T-Shirts while in my early 20’s ![]()

Everybody who complains about ‘their genetic potential’ and saying ‘my frame won’t let me gut hyooge ever’ should really just be directed to this post to end that discussion as quickly as possible.
Prof X do you think shorter training sessions are the way to go?
i see people in my gym who say they stay for like 2 hours and they look as though a breeze could blow them over.
I have gained 2kg in a month since only training for under an hour.
I also talked to a big guy who was buying supplements at the same time as me and he said he only works out for half an hour or so. He said hormones get out of whack any longer.
What are your thoughts?
^^ Dude, that can’t be you. Who is that pic of lol.
Amazing progress.
