I put alot of effort into the Ian King Limping and Chest and Back programs, and can honestly say that I got much better results using Fred Hatfield and Charles Poliquin type programs that incorperate more variation between individual workouts. What you have to understand is that while the Pro BB’s programs that are published list specific excercises, reps, etc, In actuality many of these guys switch up what they do every workout . This cuts down on nervous system overtraining and pattern overload, allowing use of a higher overall volume. As for Dexter, he used to be a very fast running back, and is predominantly fast-twitch. Such an individual would respond very well to a heavy, lower volume of training.
