Prime Time: Barrds Tale

Yes, but he urinated in front of my Carr door, so this is my revenge. I love my brother.

Do you really think these would have value beyond the danger when used on someone who has posture problems? I don’t know if I could sacrifice the lumbar for rounded shoulders or a hunched back. I think there are way better exercises to fix this.

Supermans using one arm and leg at a time are probably way better. What do you think?

For the average person, I’m hesitant to suggest anything. But for someone who’s writing on Prime Time, they’ll have a better shot of working safely.

I agree with your core training suggestions.

Good Morning,

Quick question on the Beta alanine, is it weight base/dose? And should she start taking it prior to leaving and the whole time there?

Thanks a million.

Bodyweight dosing is always best, and I’m currently experimenting with that protocol.

I’d focus on oxygen forsure.

DB,

I just read that watermelons are a powerful natural dierutic, and that some celebrity-training dude often has clients eat nothing but watermelon for a whole day to lose water weight.

While I find the latter statement horrifying, I’m curious about what ingredient in a fruit that is like 92% water acts as a dierutic?

Hey Dave,

Sorry to hear it’ll be your last Prime Time, T-Nation will be the worse off for it.

I’d like to ask about creatine absorption - should we take into consideration the sodium levels of the PWO drink before adding more?
I appreciate the props. I understand the decisiion to kill PT though… for example, there are very few questions but I get paid to be on for the full 2 hours.

To answer your question; yes (Surge is the perfect example).

Cheers

Dear Dave,

Could you elaborate on some of the details on why you think one should take two weeks for your body to get used to a new weight (from cutting or bulking) ?

Is it some kind of hormonal normalisation ?

Sorry to hear it’s your last night, hopefully you’ll still drop by the website now and then (other than Hockey what else is there to do up here in Canada between November and April umm… June).
It’s cool, I’m not going anywhere.

I know I know. I just thought it’d get confusing in this situation.

Based on the micellar (from the word "micelle) structure, it is believed that this type of casein digests more slowly.

Since it’s your last night here’s the bonus question:

Where does egg albumin rate on the scale of apsorption timing?

Thanks
I haven’t seen this research performed anywhere, but it’s interesting to speculate.

Cheers

What? Last ever? Huh? Mommy…

You just called me mommy. I know where this is going, and now I’m glad this is the last Prime Time!

I joke.

Dear Dave,

With chronic omega -3 (fish oil) supplementation, veggies, etc, can one trick the body’s metabolism into thinking it is naturally lean (but really got lean from dieting down) ?

“I understand the decisiion to kill PT though… for example, there are very few questions but I get paid to be on for the full 2 hours.”

Very few questions?? What the hell, if I knew that was an issue I could’ve spouted off enough questions to every contrib on this site to make their heads spin. I’ve been pacing myself all this time as to not annoy you guys for nothing… I go cry now

In seriousness, much thanks for all your help DB, you’ve greatly improved my nutrition strategies and made a major difference in how I supplement. I eargerly await your articles in the future, thanks again.

Hey Dave I just finished reading the genetics article by CT and saw he mentioned cordyceps sinensis. I was looking at this earlier and saw some good information showing increased production of testosterone in CS, F2(water soluble protein) and F3 (poorly water soluble polysaccharide and protein. There also showed significantly elevated plasma testosterone levels. Have you heard much of this compound or come across it in your research?

From PubMed

“In vivo and in vitro stimulatory effects of Cordyceps sinensis on testosterone production in mouse Leydig cells”

“Effects of Cordyceps sinensis on testosterone production in normal mouse Leydig cells”
Wow, way to do your research!

You’re right in that it seems to have a positive effect on T production, but at the expense of endogenous stimulation. I’d treat CS as an anabolic steroid and cycle appropriately.

Crap, it appears as though my secret NASA research has leaked out. Ha get it?

Seriously, don’t consume watermelons. EVER. I knew a guy who did this one time and he died.

I need to make up crazy shit like this and get famous.

Eat Pop Tarts and GET HUGE!!!

Yes, that’s a big part. I don’t think we fully understand the details, but mormones are a major player. Good call.

Mmmm, I don’t think we can actually fool the body like this, but these foods are ideal for cutting. Either way, be sure to use them.

Well guys this is it. Thanks for all of your questions and interest in Prime Time.

I hope I helped, although sometimes things get more confusing when I get involved.

I have one final request: please rate my articles 4 Starrs or less, because otherwise I’m just average.

Cheers

Come on guys, you know how T-Nation works. They would not get rid of Prime Time unless they had something else up their sleeves.

So why don’t you just think of it as the PrimeTime caterpillar going into its cocoon. Wait for the butterfly my friends.

Take care,

Ryan
