Heres a short video of a pride fight… [/quote]

Holy shit I didnt think that fight was going to end up like that. He got owned!

Not sure about them being the top…but certainly the trend. They’re the “new” guys…in contrast with tank, couture, etc.

That’s Kimbo Slice, one of his backyard “money” matches…right out of prison and he’s getting into pro boxing. There’s an interview from him floating around the web…anyone?

Something worth noticing is that his promoting is done by porn producers…hence the domain where the vid is in.

I just recently began to watch and read about UFC/PRIDE fighting and I was wondering a few things. Is a fedor vs Cro Cop fight going to happen? Are both of these guys in their prime? and also are they considered to be the top two MMA fighters right now?

heres another clip, not pride/ufc but…

That video is nice, That huge black guy is a monster. He even let the other dude jack him in the face like 3 times and took it without flinching.

Interview with Kimbo Slice: Miami Street Fighting Legend

By A.I.

  1. Kimbo are you a boxing fan? If so, who are your favorite fighters now and of all-time?

Yes, I?m a boxing fan. I watch it from time to time. My all-time favorites are Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson.

  1. You are a big guy, exactly how tall are you and how much do you weigh?

I?m roughly 6?3, 240 pounds.

  1. Have you ever lost a fight underground? What is your record if you know?

I?ve lost my share in the pen. I don?t keep track but I?ve won much more than I?ve lost. Since I was released almost one year ago, I?ve gone 9-1. My only loss was to a punk that brought mace to the dance. I was kicking his ass and he used the mace as I went in for the kill. I accept the loss. I?m a man. Before the fight we said no weapons but we didn?t say no mace. He regretted doing that. I knocked him out within ten seconds in our rematch and pounded on him five more times for insurance. He lost all his front teeth but we?re good friends now. It?s about respect.

  1. What tools do you posess and what tools are you working on that you think will make you a professional threat?

I?ve got a powerful left hook and a lot of intensity. The intensity comes from the anger within. The establishment took ten years of my life and now I?m gonna take it back.

  1. Are you in training right now to polish your boxing skills and if so how is that going?

I recently started training at a local gym here in Miami. I?m working on my conditioning and defense. I feel I done created a great offense from my days in the pen. That was Education 101.

  1. Can you make noise in the heavyweight division? How long will it take?

That?s what my trainers think. They say the division is open and I might as well take a crack at it. We?ll see what happens. I?ll probably only need about ten pro fights before I?m ready to knock all them fools out.

  1. Can you tell us about your time spent incarcerated and if that would pose a problem getting you licensed in any state professionally?

I was incarcerated for some bulls*** I didn?t do. Let?s leave it at that. I hope my past don?t come back to haunt me. This ****a gotta keep eatin.

  1. Alot of people who will watch the tape of one of your fights will say you are an ultimate fighter not a boxer and that your a freak show not worth our time, what would you like to say to them?

I am a freak and that?s why people should pay to see me. I don?t box and do that pansy boy s***. I like to run this like Iron Mike.

  1. Are there any plans for you to fight professionaly against a specific opponent any time soon?

We?re working on getting me licensed here in Miami. I might turn pro within a few months.

  1. Do you want to be a champion or a freak puncher just to make some money? How commited are you to becoming a complete boxer?

I?m 32 years old dawg. I gots to make the dough to support myself and my disabled moms. God bless her soul. I live to bleed for that woman. I want to go as far as my power will take me.

  1. How long will it take you after turning pro to become a good slugger-boxer and become a championship level fighter?

I have a lot of respect for the game. I know many of these fighters have been putting in their work for years. But they ain?t never been in the pen as long as I have. I have skills you can?t learn on the outside. I feel I?ll be ready for anyone within ten fights.

  1. What would you like to say to our readers and hopefully your future fans?

I?d like to thank everyone who has sent me emails. If you liked what you saw in that short clip, come out and support me when I turn pro. I?m ready to run this. I?m out.

I think it came out that he wasn’t “straight outta jail.” I saw the Gannon fight and Kimbo needs to work on stamina a TON if he would ever attempt to fight in any organized MMA events. He is a big tough dude though!

RedSol has it nailed as usual. Only thing I’d add is Fedor is sick on the ground for a big man. If he gets the takedowns on CroCop, the way he did to Nogueira, it will be ugly. But Crocop has really improved his takedown defense.

The thing that realy impressed me about Fedor -Vs- Nog was Fedors ability to pull out of Nog’s grip. Nog would be holding onto Fedor and Fedor would just pull out and start pounding Nog. It realy took Nog out of his game.

Gotta love the liver kicks to Bob Sapp and Heath Herring. Bas would be proud.

Fedor make it look so damn easy. Nogueira is one of the best sub guys on the planet, and the guy would just stand up at will!
What a freak and how strong must he be?

I think Fedor must have incredible core and/or shoulder/tricep power. He hits so f’n hard when in someone’s guard. Most people can’t, because your hips are locked up and you can’t get full extension, you can’t twist back and wind up.
Yet Fedor, even with only a few inches of wiggle room, throws f’n bombs when in someone’s guard. He just punches so damn hard…

Oh no, John Wayne was 10 feet tall, and bulletproof. They had to make the sets BIGGER… He had to ride clydesdale’s and belgians, his adversaries’s horses had to wear stilts.

That’s the theory I’m stickin’ to anyway.

John Wayne was actually 6’4" - don’t know why I know that.

All right, my bad…didn’t mean to pick on the Duke, but I got confused b/t him and someone else apparently.

oopps…can’t remember who it was…dammit.

The Natural at 41 years young after laying the smack down on Vitor Belfort in their 3rd bout.

Glad to see some fellow MMA fans here.

For the guy who asked if Fedor CroCop is happening soon: Look for it this fall, granted that his fight in early July is a win (it will be) and he doesn’t get injured (he better not).

For the guy who asked who was getting the better of the white/black guy flying through the air: That black guy, Kevin Randleman, was a top NCAA wrestler and is performing a neck breaking suplex on the current HW champ, Fedor Emelianenko. Unfortunate for Randleman, Emelianenko is impervious to any injury or pain and actually won the fight by submission within 1 minute of that picture being taken and him being slammed on the back of his neck by a roided out genetic freak.

I’m going to look for the Hansen/Uno pic now, that one’s awesome

Here is Jaochim Hansen KOing Caol Uno with 12 seconds left in a fight that Caol would have won if it went to the judges

Here is Takanori Gomi putting someone into a rather uncomfortable position

Finally, here is (imo) the p4p best in the world today Wanderlei Silva in a dynamic shot as he takes on the cement headed Mark Hunt in a fight I still feel he won.

Here is Genki Sudo showing honor to his downed opponent Royler Gracie after KOing him.

Thats a nice Couture pic.

So from what I have read Cro Cop, fedor, wanderlei are among the top MMA fighters. Who else would you consider to be among the top 5 best? Anyone from UFC? Could anyone make argument for who they think is #1 pound for pound.
