Prescription Pricing?

I am currently on 100mg/week of testosterone enanthate. I am about to begin HCG at 250IU EOD and 1mg anastrozole at 1mg/week.

My insurance does not cover any of these medications, so I am looking for the best possible deal and would appreciate it if folks could share what they pay for their prescriptions in addition to the name of the pharmacy. I know KSMan has shared this information, but his test e prices are several years old and is only one data point.

I paid $60 for 1000mg of test e at the Costco Pharmacy. Sam’s Club and a local compounding pharmacy quoted me $90 and $100 for the same prescription.

A local compounding pharmacy quoted me $250 for 10,000IU of HCG and Sam’s said $48 for 10,000IU/10ml, but the pharmacist could not even be sure the vial contained 10ml.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The thing about buying the 10k ML HCG is that if you do 250iu EOD you will use less than half of that a month. HCG has a shelf life of 1 month, so you’d be throwing half of it away. My insurance covers the Testosterone, so I can’t help you there. I buy my syringes in bulk online (they would be covered by my insurance but only the EXACT amount I need, and I like having extra around and don’t mind spending $20 for 100 syringes).

I get my HCG at my local compounding pharmacy. It blows because it’s $85 for a month’s supply, but all of the pharmacies in my area are either always sold out (stupid hcg diet) or they only carry the 10k vial at over $200 which is insane considering I’d have to toss half of it. My Compounding Pharmacy will never run out of stock, and each vial contains 1000iu more than I use in a month “just in case”, so the convenience/reliability factor is huge.

HCG lasts for more than a month in the refrigerator. I get at least 6 weeks out of mine, with no ill-effects. They make 2K and 5K iu kits as well as the 10K kits, you might check with the pharmacy about ordering those instead.
As far as pricing, I know that the Pfiser Depo-Test is $160 or so for a 10ml 200mg/ml. Not sure what the Watson (generic) is, it’s covered for me.

Costco is the cheapest I have found for pharmacy grade Test Cyp–you[re not likely to get a better deal out there. if you do, I’d love to know about it!

HCG is unfortunately very expensive as you have found and other posters have confirmed. You could look into cheap overseas pharmacy options, depending on your tolerance for engaging in “gray market” activities, legally speaking.

AI can be sourced cheaply from resarch chemical sites. But anastrozole (generic of Arimidex) is now available in the US since Adex went off patent last year. You can find this cheaply, but I’m not sure the price.

To follow up my OP and perhaps help those lurkers checking out the thread, I finally got my prescriptions sent to Costco.

There, the generic anastrozole runs less than $10 for 12 1mg tablets, a three-month supply. The HCG is another story. Initially, the pharmacy ordered Novarel at 10,000IU from their supplier at a cost to me of $500 (interestingly, the pharmacist informed me his mark-up was only $20 for that prescription). After I balked and explained there was no way I could pay that, the pharmacist said he would do research on cheaper options and call me back in 2 hours. He did, and we decided on Pregnyl at 10,000IU for $69. Even if I throw out half of it, $69/month is reasonable enough (though cursory research finds many users get 6 weeks out of their vials despite the recommended 4).

I hope this information proves useful to someone. Leaving the pharmacy thinking this medication was outside my price range was disheartening. I cannot imagine my response if a more serious condition for which I could not afford treatment.

EDIT: According to the literature that came with my Pregnyl vials, the reconstituted drug is stable for 60 days not 30 days. More information: HCG is recovered from pregnant women’s urine. I wonder how you become a donor?

Just to confirm, the Pregnyl @ $69 was from Costco right?

Yes, VTBalla34, that was at Costco.

Also, thank you so much for your contributions to this sub-forum: invaluable really.

Likewise thanks for this contribution–I had no idea you could get it that cheap there.

I use pallimed compounding pharmacy out of Woburn mass. I get the test c (5ml, 200mg per ml) for 50 dollars, and 10000iu hcg for $75. So $125 all together with syringes and extra needles. I talked to my insurance company(blue cross) and they said if I switch my hcg prescription to one of their fertility pharmacies, I can get it for a co pay - $15. I’m going to do this for my next batch. The test has a deductible of $250, which once met they will pay for half the test.

Did BC require a letter of medical necessity from your doctor in order to cover the hcg? Mine do, and so far my doctor has not been able to work it out with them.

No they said I just had to use one of their fertility pharmacies. The woman on the phone made a comment , something to the affect that being that I’m in Massachusetts I would be able to get it covered. So I’m not sure if it could be state dependant.

I also had to do the same thing when I was originally prescribed clomid. I tried to use cvs, which I would have had to pay out of pocket… I called BC and they said to use Village Fertillity and it would be covered (co pay).

If they were willing to cover clomid, I see no reason they shouldn’t cover HCG since they can both be used for fertility.

I stopped by Sam’s Club and while there inquired about the price of 10,000IU of Pregnyl; the tech quoted $67.

Just checked with Costco- The price quoted for 10,000 IU of Pregnyl was 80 dollars. I was told the price may vary depending on where in the country you are. The kicker is that the pharmacy was required to order 10 vials, which they didn’t want to do, and the product was not currently available from the manufacturer. So if you’ve got some available to you, hurry up and buy it.

I’ll so have to hit up costco. I always forget that they have a Pharmacy in store.

what does HCG do,other that the diet program doctors are promoting ?

the diet program with hcg is a scam and the hcg helps keep the testicles working and the size normal as well
as keeping the fertility due to suppression caused by the testosterone medication

I refilled my prescriptions for 10,000IU Pregynl and 1,000mg testosterone enanthate at Costco.

10,000IU Pregynl - $75
1,000mg TE - $60

For the past year I paid $120 per 10ml Test Cyp 200mg/ml at Walgreens. They said my Aetna Insurance doesn’t cover it. But I was at Costco about a month ago and thought I’d ask their pharmacy just for fun. They came back and said its only 15 bucks because my insurance covers it. I also called another Costco and they gave me a different price.
I was surprised. I thought that it didn’t matter where I went, I would always pay the same as long as my insurance didnt change. The whole insurance thing is really jacked up and often times makes thing overly complicated.

My point is - always be shoppin around.

To get a good price for T at Sam’s Club:

  1. Testosterone cypionate, get script changed to cover cyp or eth
  2. Have a Sam’s Club Business Membership
  3. Pay cash, do not tender insurance

Hey to Joey I have Aetna I can get them to pay for my test and nandrolone it takes a bit of work but if you put in some leg work but worth it. Firstly with exception of nandrolone DON’T goto a compounding pharmacy. Secondly ALL INJECTION MEDICATION is covered through your medical benefits which means you MUST pay out of pocket and submit for medical reimbursement. Thirdly FAX in the request don’t mail it, check their website every day if they haven’t posted it call them and harass them be polite but persistent. For me that is a 100% coverage thing but your mileage may vary. It can be a pain in the ass at first but easier to do it and fax it in. No one at Aetna seems to have the same story but I have been getting them to pay for my test monthly for quite a few months.
