Idk about you guys but when I’m about to go for a PR or do something that will be exceptionally challenging, I have a few go to songs in my playlist. I’m struggling finding some songs to download as my music preference is kinda picky and weird. Just thought this would be a good place to share some music. I’ll go first with a few
We taking over- DJ Khaled (yeah I know, kinda lame but used to be my go to)
This used to get me pumped up. Since I moved to a commercial gym where they blaze all sorts of crap and I find headphones distracting while I lift I’ve just had to learn to embrace or block out whatever’s playing. Setting 20 rep squat PRs to Lady Gaga is one of the manliest things you can do imo.
I don’t care what’s playing because as soon as I get under / over the bar I don’t hear shit except for myself in my head telling me to crush the weight. Kind of like when the wife starts nagging me, I just turn it off. It’s an acquired skill so I don’t expect all you young bucks to get that

Like StrengthDawg, external stimuli kind of fade out for me when I’m moving heavy iron, but if I HAD to have a song, I’d go with…
KMFDM - Juke Joint Jezebel
And just in case you miss the lift…
Bobby McFerrin - Don’t Worry Be Happy
Haha great idea for your just in case… I train with headphones in if I’m at the gym cause if can’t lift to lady ga ga either… You guys make a good point though. I only really hear the music right before I lift. If it’s hard enough my mind just kinda goes blank anyways. I tend to turn on the song right as I’m finishing my rest and starting my set up, then just focus
Skillet- Monster x2
Black Label Society- Destruction Overdrive, Demise of Sanity
Atreyu- Bleeding Mascara, Become the Bull
Sevendust- Face to Face, Enemy, Terminator, Broken Down
Chevelle- Send the Pain Below
Dropkick Murhpy’s- State of Massachusettes, Loyal to No One, Flannigans Ball, Shipping Up to Boston
DJ Vlad and Roc Raida- Eminem vs Distrubed, DMX vs Nirvana, Lil John vs Black Sabbath, Ludacris vs ACDC, Jay-Z vs RHCP
These are some of mine that I seem to stay on rotation but there are plenty others.
And like others, these are usually what I listen to between lifts. I don’t like clutter in my mind when I am actually lifting.

Interesting you should say that. I remember reading somewhere that CT doesn’t like to listen to music during lifting either. I think he said something along the lines of strength is a skill so he needs to concentrate, but he listen to music during conditioning. I find that my mind blocks out everything including the music during a lift but I agree wholeheartedly. Good lists by the way. I’ve been trying to YouTube each song to hear them but it’s been quite a task with so many

I used to have rap god on my playlist as well. Great song. Actually when in doubt I just go to the eminem station on sound cloud and lift away
