Get Adidas Powerlift or Powerlift 2.0. They are like $80-90 and are a better introductory shoe for someone not fully commited to oly shoes. If you like those, then save up and get the adipowers or romaleos or whatever.[/quote]
I agree they’re a good introductory shoe to try out a heel. Also the Power perfect 2’s are pretty much the same shoe with a better heel. Heres my video review on the Powerlift 2.0’s
I like my Wei Ruis granted I haven’t tried any other real squat shoes. Just chucks and work boots. I got the one’s with the wooden heel. I hear the one’s with the rubber heel actually don’t compress at all, it’s just they’re way heavier and in my opinion don’t look as snazzy. They’re the lowest priced brand out there you can get without getting total crap.
For deadlifts, I use one of those minimalist shoes. I also go for walks in them and do conditioning and have helped with former SI pain, knee, and ankle issues. Granted, if you’re just getting something for deadlifting, it’s a very pricey way to go. The one’s I have the merrel line of minimalist shoes with a vibram sole. A very good compromise between 5-fingers and real shoes. The best of both worlds really.
