My wife is 4’11 & 1/2" (I guess you count fractions when you’re vertically challenged.) She’s fattened up to 47k/104. See doesn’t lift but stretchs, martial arts, and some band work. On the rare occassions I do some sit ups at home she’ll lay next to me and just start cranking out a couple hundred before getting bored and quitting. But…at least I can out lift her.
Thanks,
Post how it works for you. I hope it helps you as much as it does for me.
I think it’s a good way to mix it up. It’s like using bands on the squat. The bands are definitely helping me bring my squat back up. Tomorrow I’m going to try the Dan John deadlift challenge I told you about. Going to see where I’m at.
Good stuff. Ive used the slingshot here and there. I guess if your a frequent bencher itd reduce the stress on the shoulders, maybe help with lock outs.
The deadlift challenge…i was cursing your name a few weeks ago. No chance of me completing it…strength endurance just aint my gig lol.

30 minute DL change
DL
315 x 60 in 28 min
Dmbl rows
150 x 24
Rack pull
495 x 1
545 x 1
585 x 1 came close to passing out
Having minor surgery in the morning, going to be limited to lifting no more than 20lbs for a week. Thought I’d tear it up
I felt really good after doing all those deadlifts yesterday, mental clarity is way up. Energy is way up.
That is a lot deadlifting. Nice job.
Good luck with your surgery.
Thanks, it went well. I’m waiting for them to let me out of here. On those deadlifts, I noticed bar speed increased in the first part of the challenge .
Mission accomplished!!! Holy over load! Good luck with your surgery.
I’d need minor surgery after 315 x 60 in 28 minutes.
I usually warmup my upper body for a few minutes for that exact reason. Almost all shoulder stretches.
Great work in here. Never tried the sling shot bench before. Seems like it worked well for you.
And that counts for a lot. ![]()
Hell of a DL circuit. That is a ton of lifting in 28 minutes.
Glad to hear that the surgery went well. Hope you recover quickly and can get back to lifting. ![]()
As I promised on October 6, I went in this morning for lab work. We will see if taking Tongkat (400mg) a day for 4 months will raise T levels. I used the same lab as before but found out I do not need a dr approval. I called the lab billing department and they said they have direct access lab. $15 for T and $35 for vitamin D.
I will post the results and relevant information when they come back.
1st lab (all am and fasted blood draws)
3/15/2013
BW 315
T 329, vitamin D 27
changed diet, started avoiding estrogens, started supplementing with vitamin D and ZMA
2nd lab
6/02/2022
BW 267
T 755, vitamin D 46
5 hours and 46 minutes of sleep and a sleep score of 66
this should have been a lower number because I’m 9yrs older and finished chemotherapy 6 months earlier. Body fat is lower. What I read is that a 10% reduction in body fat equals an 81 ng/dl increase in T. I know I lost muscle also and this alone would not explain the drastic increase in T. I was taking an antioxidant that contains ashwagandha and stopped shortly after this test. I also stopped the vitamin D and tried getting it naturally about this time. Started taking Tongkat, 2 months after this test at 400mg every day for 4 months. I did miss 2 days
12/08/2022
BW 278
T 435, vitamin D 36
6 hours 9 minutes of sleep and a sleep score of 65
My conclusion is that the Tongkat did not work for me and getting my vitamin D naturally, even in the summer does not work for me. I don’t know why the June results were high. I’m going to start taking the antioxidant I was on earlier, for a couple of months and retest. I am done with the Tongkat.
@shaneinga @atlas13 @cavalier
Vitamin D supplementation plus good fats can actually boost T levels.
I always feel more frisky when I remember to take my D.
Is test something you’d ever consider taking Bam?
I’m hoping I can get my strength back and break some records. The records that I have the best chance of breaking are in the drug tested federations. If I took test even for medical reasons, I would not be able to compete in those federations. I’m going to do what i can to raise T naturally with the exception of eliminating bourbon consumption.
Jes…thats pretty strict if not even for med reasons. Fair play though for trying different natural options mate…
I was hopeful the Tongkat would work for you. Taking ZMA/zinc/ D3 here and my t is 250. I only have one low t symptom (the worst) and I was hopefule about Tongkat. A lifting friend whose t tested at 25 (!), started trt l0 weeks ago and his symptoms have cleared. He presently has significantly increased strength such that he is now concerned about his tendons keeping up, and has !@#$%^&* sex. My urologist doesn’t like trt replacement for his patients. After hearing the guy rave about the !@#$%^&* sex I have depression, another low t symptom.
Just because it did not work for me doesn’t mean it would not work for you. It could be that it’s beneficial pathways are already being addressed in my diet. It has clinical trials that show it works for some people and it seems it is more beneficial the more older someone is. It’s so cheap you should try it out. The above lab results show that I’m doing something right. I’ll put up a post with the changes that I have made in case there is something that might help you.
