Power Within the Mind/Paranormal

This is the one subject that has always intrigued me the most. The fact the placebo effect is real just proves that our minds have some untapped power that we are unaware of. I was reading a placebo study where a powerlifting coach was giving his athletes sugar pills and telling them it was steroids and they made freakish gains in their lifts. As soon as he told them it was just sugar their lifts instantly shot back down. A little off the topic but somewhat related, is the Native American trackers in the military. They were the best frackers the military ever saw, but as soon as they cut their hair off they were unable to track (I believe this is why they let special forces guys grow beards and long hair). Hair is and extension of the nervous system that is supposed to almost act as sort of a conductor for brain flow. Getting back to the topic, what’s everyone’s thoughts on the potential our brains have? And has anyone experienced firsthand any really strong placebo effects? I’m curious to learn how to harness this power consciously and be in control of it, rather than having to trick my brain into believing something false

My dad told me he loved me. Turns out he was lying the entire time.

When close friends or family are thinking about calling me I pick up the phone and call them first. It always freaks them out.

I strongly believe that our neurological system can act as an emitter and receiver. Not with any great detail, just general senses.

Exactly, but how can it emit and receive signals from other neurological systems that are miles away? What I’m saying is that what you experience with calling your relatives is just the tip of the iceberg. There has to be so much more we are capable of but we have no idea how to practice and control any of it. I will try and find the placebo study I was reading about the powerlfiters thinking they were taking steroids. Their lifts went up by freakish numbers

I have no idea and can’t back it up with anything scientific.

Odd though that yesterday me and a buddy drove about 50 miles to a little recreation town to go fishing. We get out of the car and I say “I bet we run into my sister here today.”. He asked why. I said its just a hunch. We go into a little diner for their Sunday morning buffet, and as we’re finishing up my brother walks in with his wife. Turns out they were just out and about and ended up somewhere they hadn’t been in about 15 years for no real reason.

Could just be coincidence but stuff like that just seems to happen a lot. I haven’t spoken with him for a couple of months. I’d been meaning to call him but we’ve both been pretty busy.

Check out this interview with Kaz. He’s big on harnessing the placebo effect. Basically keeping a positive attitude. Also visualization.

Old Chinese people used to tell us that they kept virgil overnight during funeral wakes because if a pregnant cat were to leap over the coffin, the deseased would wake up and turn into a zombie or something.

I tried this once after midnight on a dare when I was a kid working as a funeral staff. Literally threw a pregnant stray cat over the coffin when the guests were all playing mahjong. Didn’t work. SAD!

Micheal Beasley has figured out how to use 11% of his brain compared to the mere 10% us normal folk are able to use. I’d drop him a message.
