They’re pretty cool. Like a little hand cranked extruder with different dies for different shapes.

You get different dies for different shapes.
Edit: SkyzykS beat me to it.
Why the hate for the military guys?
I am fascinated by those things.
Same/similar process used to create the aluminum extrusions.
But the pasta makers are just amazing.
I’m a little odd like that.
I used one working at SPQR. It was fun. Brass is preferred because it leaves a rough surface on the pasta which helps with sauce adhesion.
I’ve wondered about that. I know stainless is typically preferred in a lot of food applications, and thought that the brass was just cuz it looks really nice.
I quit drinking at 19
I definitely should have.
But
. We learn when we learn.
Nine times out of ten, I choose it over rigatoni. Macaroni has always held a special place for me, carrying a sense of comfort and sentimental value. Honestly, the same can be said for all Italian and Sicilian food—especially when it’s homemade.
Tim Kennedy has a history of questionable claims, with allegations of fabricating stories in his book. When these accusations surfaced, many prominent Mil/Vet influencers backed him uncritically as he issued a rebuttal—despite numerous accounts from those who served with him calling out his dishonesty. Additionally, he has been accused of using a deceased teammate’s story to bolster his own heroic narrative, which is deeply troubling. On top of that, the title of his book appears to be borrowed from a Vietnam POW, raising further ethical concerns. His actions come across as self-serving and narcissistic, making his work feel more like a vanity project than an authentic account.
The frustration stems from witnessing what happens behind the scenes and hearing about it firsthand.
Jocko’s relentless efforts to enhance his image, despite multiple unfavorable reports, may have contributed to situations that led to the loss of Marines and Army personnel in Fallujah.
This issue has resurfaced, shedding light once again on the SEAL community’s questionable ethics and integrity—or lack thereof. It’s appalling to see them denigrating or even attempting to erase what Chapman accomplished. It seems driven by their desire for the limelight and grandstanding, which undermines the critical lessons of humility and doing what’s right. Hopefully, more individuals will step up and stand for the truth and what is genuinely honorable.
Cubler is a good dude and has no leg in this fight personally but wants to truth to come to light, so do a lot of people.
For context, I’m a former 0331. I don’t have any wild war stories—ended up riding a desk after being on med hold and eventually getting medically separated from the Corps. That said, I have close friends who did incredible things in places like Fallujah, Najaf, and even Sadr City alongside Army brothers. They’re humble about their experiences and not out there trying to capitalize on what they did—they’re better than that. So, to the guys who are trying to cash in on it: they can fuck right off.
Good man.
I was an 0331 / 8531. I actually understand where you’re coming from. The SEALs have really shit the bed.
Pickled fish is delicious
Rigatoni is maccheroni you heathen.
You mean curries and kebabs?
I thought that was a curry.
In all honesty I’m just bored and was trying to pick a fight with the limeys for giggles.
It’s better than reading “Lewiston, Maine” again.
I actually had a full British breakfast prepared by an actual person from England.
Heinze has freakin beans for them that we don’t have here. Thats messed up.
Its also entirely possible that I’m just not aware of them. I’m pretty ignorant of legumes in general.
