šŸ”„ Post Your Hot Takes... Even the Oddly Specific Ones

Damn right!

Which brings me to… people who use exclamation marks in texts or emails when it makes no sense to do so.

But we’re so excited to talk to you!!!

Wait! What?

I came up with a few more. Zecarlo will love them.

Foursomes are better than threesomes.

You should make your land a farm or butterfly sanctuary.

Hawaiian pizza is still delicious.

Mexicans and Irish are the same people separated by an ocean.

Ties look stupid.

Unless you physically have to move something, all work can be remote.

Charities do more harm than good.

Some coach should write an article about how to lose muscle mass in a good way.

Brown is just dark orange.

Birds are more interesting than dogs.

Grammar and punctuation can be creatively played with.

Utility knives are better than steak knives. Since this also drew some ire.

Most bankers are actually nice people.

This is a fun thread.

Totally random + firm stance = funniest.

Until they realize they don’t need you.

You can’t fence in butterflies.

I doubt even Hawaiians believe this.

As well as cuisine, fear of the sun, and ability to speak intelligibly.

Looking unemployed looks stupider.

Then all work can be outsourced.

Tell that to the Clintons.

Most coaches teach that very thing. No one at T Nation of course.

Tell that to a black person.

If by interesting you mean tastier, then yes.

People who claim their poor grammar is just their creativity at work are not creative.

Steak knives cut steak. I never cut a utility before.

I’ve heard that too, from a banker.

Very true.

Additionally, the flight and wing profiles of very small creatures (such as dragonflies) are absolutely fascinating. At low Reynolds numbers (basically low speed fluid) a smooth wing is actually sub-optimal

Are, you, absolutely sure, that this…can be a thing.

For the most part. I think 75% of modern day work falls into this category.

Hot Takes:
Houses should be mandated to have a furnished home gym room upon building. We have to unfatten the world.

People who judge you for eating ā€œhealthyā€ food but bitch when you call them out on their 4th donut are jealous losers

Food should be viewed primarily as fuel, not as something that makes us happy or must taste like it came from a michelin restaurant every night (@Brant_Drake you excepted to this rule - I need the food porn thread).

Mission Trips for the most part do way more harm than good.

Predatory college executives should be forced to work in the jobs their swindled attendees have to do post ā€œgraduationā€.

Specifically for pets that live in cages/aquariums/terrariums: Making the enclosure ā€œas close to the natural habitat as possibleā€ because you ā€œwant them to live as in natureā€ is BS. If you wanted them to have the best life in nature you wouldn’t own one.

IMSA > IndyCar > Rally > NHRA, Formula 1,2, 3 > kart racing > Nascar

Suggesting non-binding things like ā€œNet-Zero by 2050ā€ to combat climate change is worse than denying humans are affecting the climate because it’s nothing more than virtue signalling.

Hunting with a rifle is basically cheating. It makes it almost too easy.

Unsweet iced green and oolong tea was a big thing while I was in Japan and it was awesome.

And while better than being a fatass, may be detrimental to health beyond a certain point.

3 year olds are the terrorists leaders - 3 is much much worse than 2.

Final Fantasy VII is a mediocre RPG and its legacy is only there due to the historical significance of popularizing the JRPG in the West with its strong marketing. If you ignore that and the nostalgia associated with it because of it being many gamers first time with the genre… it’s just not that great.

Really?

Agree. I fully support hunting but I like seeing bow hunters put themselves on a more level playing field, since none of us actually need to do it to survive.

Yeah, do some Google-Fu on it. I am not talking long term missionaries - just like the week long trips many teens and adults go on. It often is not good for the local communities.

I’m going to keep writing these lists just for your responses. This is great.

Seriously no sarcasm or anger from my end.

They already have closets.

It’s a tight rope. Some states definitely need tougher penalties for animal abuse, especially for domestic farm animals. But then again in many states it’s illegal to kill your own pet if it’s severely wounded or terminally ill. You literally have to pay someone else to kill your pet by law. Doesn’t seem right.

I don’t see your point

Interesting.

I like what they’ve done there. There is a similar situation at the end of the book I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iann Reid. Highly recommended if you like highly cerebral, challenging books.

My daughter is 3 in 2 months.

My son is 17 months old.

They are both high energy and crazy.
