šŸ”„ Post Your Hot Takes... Even the Oddly Specific Ones

Misuse is a matter of perspective. One could say they are using them as they should be used.

Can you state these implicit biases of the white race?

You have repeatedly stated your grievances against whites. What kind of impression do you think that gives to the white men here? And considering this is a site with white participants and created and managed by a nearly-all or fully-white staff this might strike some as incongruent.

It was just a joke man!

You mentioned like 10 bands and 9 of them were British (English?). All from the same island as you, i think.

Heh, reading it back I did sound a little defensive.

So why a rebuttal when I mention white men, and not a rebuttal when people make comments about other races. Hilarious.

I don’t know what posts you’re talking about. You can share them.

You didn’t answer my questions. If you don’t want to, that’s fine.

You’re cool.

It’s hard to argue with Sgt Pepper, Black Sabbath, and Dark Side as influential albums.

To the group at large;

Metallica is definitely influential. But some of that just comes from being around for 40 years. Which of their albums has the single biggest impact on music? Or which album was most influential?

It would probably be Master of Puppets, wouldn’t it? I can’t pretend I’m massive on the history of thrash metal as I only have experience with the well-known bands, but it introduced a level of musical complexity to the genre that I don’t think was seen before. As well as deeper lyrical content. Some progressive rock elements were in there too which helped set the precedent going forward for heavy metal on a wider scale.

Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters are very widely known by people who don’t really listen to metal specifically. That does a lot to solidify it as a genre that people recognize as real music.

Implicit bias is pseudo intellectual bs.

Actions > Thoughts

Conveniently ignores black on everyone else crime rates.

Another leftist vermin trope

I’ve made a mistake. Actually the mention of the army sergeant rings a bell. Anyways, Shaq is still a great guy and I think a good sports role model.

IDK, if anyone has watched ā€œQuarterbackā€ on Netflix, but I gained a lot of respect for my local team’s QB, Kirk Cousins. He kinda stole the show from Mahomes IMO. Great role model for kids. Good husband and father.

As I’ve mentioned before, the markets are up so far this year. I agree there are serious issues with the economy. However, if you believe our current situation is the result of any one individual or party you are not thinking objectively. The current situation has been building for at least the last 50 years. The last President that was honest with the public was Bush 1 and he got punished for it.

I try not to give the president much credit or blame for the economy. There are bigger forces that impact the economy than the POTUS.

Speaking of Metallica and the President, do you think Pres Trump is blasting …And Justice For All today?

i will have to disagree

the markets are up…but not up to where they were 18 months ago

but hey, maybe you are smarter than I am

as for objectively, the republicans are just as guilty

and if Trump was still in office and the all this was still happening I would be blaming his ass too

Answer 1 question…do you not think that the policies put in place by the current administration have any negative effect on the markets and/or the economy?

Right.

Thoughts and disassociation are now considered harmful. Like that first crush, I had. I’m scarred for life by her because after getting the courage to ask her out, she said, ā€œYou’re not Greek.ā€

Maybe she wanted it GREEK,  :joy: :joy_cat:

You should have responded, ā€œneither are you, you’re Turkish.ā€

I can’t imagine any reason anyone would ever visit a Disney park. Ever.
