A question for the experts, or for open speculation.
Is the post workout window of opportunity caused by:
a) increased insulin production upon eating post workout
b) increased insulin sensitivity upon eating post workout
c) increased non-insulin mediated transport of nutrients into the muscle or
something else?
D all of the above
a) you eat you are going to create more insulin.
b) you will create it but wont need as much etc you are in a higher state of insulin sensitivity due to the w/o.
c) the HR is Pumping still, the metabolic rate is up, the muscles you works are in a catabolic states you add the above food etc and the body wants to fix the problem you created ASAP asking for any and all excess nutrients etc to Come help.
the so called window is opened by depleteing your own stored muscle glycogen-
if ur own glyc. stores r tapped ,the body will break down ur own muscle tissue to turn ammino acids into sugar.(considering there isn’t amino acids available in the blood stream) which accounts for the need to re-up with protein and carbs after a workout.
Of course there are a host of idea’s on how to manipulate this window to coincide with one’s physique goals.
I guess that would be a thread for a different day.

I’d venture to say that the “window” isn’t caused by food at all. But rather increased inculin sensitivity caused by the excercise itself.
Is that what you were asking?
I agree in this being the cause largely but it is also hugely tied to intake prior, after, and during. One will have the window but with certain intake choices you can aim to optimize ort waste that window.
