I haven’t doen a lot of reading on this, but after my work outs as of late I’ve been trying to get a nice half our to 45 minute nap after my post work out shake. It seems to be refreshing, and it seems that my muscles are a bit less sore.
Is this just in my head or is there something to a nap right after a work out?

In the Next Frontier program it is reccommended you take naps in between work outs, but then again that program calls for working out twice a day.
I’m curious about this subject too. I think it was David Barr who said that PWO naps cause a cascade of catabolic effects IF you’re spiking insulin. Then Waterbury goes and says they’re imperative on his programs such as 2x4 (which I am currently on). I don’t know what to make of it so I’m just taking a nap a couple hours after my first workout.
yeah it’s definitely one of the top recovery tools, although unless one has excessive free time it is hard to fit into his/her schedule.

Sweet thanks, I’m not doubting you at all based on how good I feel when I get one in, but does any one have a link to an article as to the physiology behind it?
Thanks,

I’m not sure if that’s the only thing, but that’s one at least.
