Possibly Giving TRT Another Shot

Went to primary who’s treating my hashimotos thyroiditis and she did bloodwork for testosterone. Here are my current labs. I’m not on TRT just thyroid replacement.
I recently had her do bloodwork :

test total 325 low normal (250-1100)
Test Free 22.7 L (46-224)
Testo, BIO 38.8 L ( 110-575)
SHBG 68 H (8-48)
Albumin 3.7 ( 3.6-5.1)

She referred me to Urologist who prescribed Androgel, though he only wants to test TT after 4 weeks and doesn’t use HCG.

His bloodwork:

Prostate .2
Prolactin 7.9 2-18
Test Total 332 241-827
LH 4.0 1.5-9.3
Fsh 2.6 1.6-8.0

I know I need E2 in labs… it’s been high in the past. Not sure why shbg is high. Last year it was 24 in that range. Obviously I need to find a doc that can monitor E2 though can’t really afford to pay out of pocket. i’ve tried Test cyp w/ Hcg in the past but couldn’t get afford to keep seeing a top doctor for proper monitoring.

Will the androgel be and terrible choice based on my SHBG? I havn’t used it yet though am tempted to give it a go as I continue to look for another doctor to treat properly w/ labs and possible AI.

Elevated E2 increases SHBG. Your high SHBG indicates that your E2 is excessive.

E2 can be elevated because of problems in the liver clearing E2. This can be from Rx or OTC drugs, as well as various liver condition.

Any gyno?

Your endo is treating your T levels from your lab work and not treating the patient. You need a new doc. Endo’s are really bad and so are Uro’s

Where are you located?

Transdermal T has the largest potential to drive E2 levels higher.

Thanks for replying ksman. I have had nipple issues in the past and think I have estrogen related chest fat( though my BF is pretty high right now to differentiate between gyno and chest fat.

I live in sf bay area. I’ve driven down to see dr. Mariano back in 2007 and was put A slew of hormones. I wasn’t tolerating thyroid at the time and the cortef was causing side effects. He put me on test and hcg, but no ai. I called down saying j felt I was having nipple issues and other estrogen related sides. I was told I didn’t need an ai and my erect nipples were from the testosterone. I felt I needed closer monitoring/ guidance and frequent labwork. I got nervous and weaned off everything and slowly built up my thyroid w/ my primary’s help. Not trying to put down Dr. M. but that was my experience.

If u know of someone in my area that could help, that would be great… Although money is pretty tight l… I was hoping to find someone that would take insurance.

Also, is it difficult to lower SHBG naturaly? Will it come
Down as estrogen drops as I’m pretty sure if I lose weight I could bring down my estrogen.
I saw someone mention u need supraphysiological test supplementation to bring it down…
What about nettle root?

I

Go online and find anastrozole as a research chemical and order that…it got my E2 under control.
