Why would it be so strange for there only to be black people there at a certain time? I’m sure this sounds terrible, but where I’m from, Popeye’s are in mostly black neighborhoods and KFC’s seem to be in mostly white neighborhoods. Maybe that is the case there, too.

Umm, probably not. This was 1988 to 1990. And it was only a few occasions during each summer. It had to be the convergence of me being in that neighborhood at lunch time. But there was another Popeyes off of Penn Ave in SE DC (by the Eastern Market, I think), that I would eat at too on occasion, plus some others in the burbs.

New york is not 90% black, central new york or any other county. Certain specific wards yes, cities maybe but it would mean strictly that city not including any suburb of it. When you are including counties and two seperate areas as they did, it is majority white. Look at the damn newscasters it is a local station. Thew went to two seperate locations at opposite ends and couldn’t find a white person, interesting.

I’ve been to that one only once. I was working in LB and I knew there was a Roscoes there somewhere. My co-worker adn I asked around until someone (a fat white guy I might add) told us where it was.
We were the only non-black guys there, but the waitress was really cool to us. That place was so fucking good I couldn’t believe it. It was like one of those things that you hear about, but you HAVE to eat there to really appreciate how fucking delicious it really is.
