I was thinking about getting an air popper to make some popcorn. You can make it with out butter that way, and I like the taste of popcorn with my cottage cheese.
Is popcorn with a bit of salt an ok snack? I know it has some carbs in it, but I’m not really on a “low carb” diet.
IMO no its not good post workout maybe for some fast glycogen replenishment or if needing to bulk up but toher than that its pretty useless and empty eating that could be better spent on real food. Something of substance with payback.
If you’re so worried about the fats, get smart pop popcorn…it has something like 67% less fat and 25 % less calories or w/e.
Thank God I am not a bodybuilder lol because I enjoy popcorn. Lotsa good carbs to ingest which is a smart idea before you train in grappling or another cardio heavy sport.
Other than it not being filling I really dont see an issue. You can pop the corn yourself and spray on some of that I Cant Believe Its Not Butter spray.
Christ, now people are telling people to avoid popcorn? When will all of this bullshit end?

everything is relative. sure popcorn is better than pixy sticks or chips, but i can think of better snacks than popcorn like jerky, nuts, and fruit.
The servings get a little confusing when reading the label. They show the nutritional information for the unpopped kernels, and also the popped popcorn.
If I remember correctly, popcorn doesn’t have many carbs in it if you don’t count the fiber.
The butter is what makes it a “bad” food.
Movie theater popcorn is one of the worst things you can eat. There is nothing wrong with air-popped popcorn.

So you’re telling me airpopped popcorn with spray butter is an issue snack wise?

This one may take the cake![/quote]
I really wonder about the progress people are making if they are truly that strict with everything they eat. I think some people get off on simply being considered a “health nut”. The way some act, you would think they are walking around in contest condition all of the time.

1 cup of air-popped=31 calories. The spray butter is basically zero. Wow, stay away, its the devil! Its very bad for you! All of those calories will stop your heartbeat instantly. I better throw out every kernel of corn I see! Hissssssss, bad popcorn! (as I make the sign of the cross with my fingers)
