Doc T amd Paul, I must have miss understood Patrica as well. She sounded the same to me as T-Girl.
Vixen forums might bring new women into the t-world… give them a place to vent, do research, or just shoot the shit with other female athletes…
However,
I think the women that are here are the right kind of women for this board. We don’t need the girly girls who want to start talking about makeup and butt cream. It would be cool to have more women posting on these forums, but not at the risk of attracting those who might have intentions of polluitng our pages with things other than iron, techniques, drugs, politics, movies, sex, and music…
ahhh… what the fuck am I saying, I just wont have to read the damn t-vixen forums should one ever be created.
you guys do what you want to do…
but I say “no” to the vixen forum
Brad
Doc T and Paul: thanks for “getting it”.
I would respond to t-girl’s one and only ever post, but I’m laughing too hard. Yup, my entirely huge 5’4", 125lb body is shaking from laughter.
Excuse me, I need to go out and goad women into getting “big and muscular” like me…since I feel, you know, sooooo alone.
Sally - if you can’t write proper English, just stop posting. FYI Char-dawg is not a sassy vixen; in addition, he’s been around longer than you ever will be around at T-Forum, and he knows what the hell he’s talking about, so shut your dumb mouth and go away, esp. if you’re going to continue to type like an ignorant high school drop-out.
T-girl - Patricia wasn’t attacking anyone. And how do you know how big she really is? You never met her in person, have you? Patricia has an amazing body and athletic abilities, and I think you’re just jealous.
Holly shi* I just sent my shake projectile style across the room when I read T-girl’s post. Cough
Can we vote some one off the forum?
Don’t even waist your time on her Patricia, that’s just got to be a joke.
Your post Re: female training was dead on, one day T-girl will have some one introduce her to proper lifting and she will see her physique change with out 2 hours of cardio and think about you.
Chris this thread needs to be put to rest before Patricia (and the rest of the forum) annihilate these poor girls, ask for input on a vixen forum and we get a bunch of bickering way off topic
Retract the claws ladies.
To quote Patricia: “And just a big shame, shame on you for that assumption that EVERY woman out there has no interest beyond “toning” in weight training”
How can that be misunderstood?? I was just stating that no one on this thread assumed that EVERY woman out there had no interest beyond “toning” in weight training.
And to Stella:
She did post her picture. I didn’t say that she didn’t have an amazing body, now did I? I was just pointing out to her that every woman has different goals. I never specified what my goals were. Also, if you look at Patricia’s profile, it says she is 5’4" and weights 222. She also said she trained for 20 years. Now if she was correct about her height and years training, then why should I assume that her weight wasn’t correct either. So I didn’t assume she was big, I was just reading her profile. If she doesn’t want people to think she is bigger then put the correct weight in your profile.
And to DocT who wrote:
"You perpetuate myths about women’s training without even trying, and it’s kinda sad that you use a forum vet as a target to further your views.
Now, back to your Tae-bo classes and come back when you can behave."
… I didn’t perpetuate any myth. I am just stating that all woman have different goals and for all you know, I may be a woman with a goal of being very muscular… I think that we should just respect everyones achievements and what they want to acheive. You are the one, DocT, “perpetuating myths”, assuming that because I think a woman can be of any bodytype or any level of knowlege to post on this site that I take Taebo. I could go on…
And who gives a fuck whether or not that was my ‘first post under t-girl’ or not. It doesn’t mean that I’m not making a valid point. Oh, so just because you’ve been posting longer, then you must right.
I’m done defending myself, the funny thing is my first post was defending everyone else’s posts… LOL
T-girl, have you ever heard the phrase “tongue in cheek” before?
I never said the new forum should be used to help coddle the intimated. What I said, and still say, is that people look for a common ground with which to start a conversation or base a relationship. Would they feel more comfortable posting in a Women’s forum, hell I don’t know, I’m not a woman. But when I bought a truck I went and found a DODGE forum to post in because I was pretty sure a FORD forum would not understand my questions or give a crap about replying to me. How do you expect a person to learn or improve if they won’t even stop here long enough to see if they can gain any benefit ? And I thought the idea was to help spread the word and help build a T-nation.
I am sorry I don’t “get you” however I do respect you and your opinion. It just sounded to me that you were making a reverse assumption about women’s fitness goals. Please don’t assume becuase I disagree with you that I don’t respect you.
Also, I just wanted to point out Polar Princess’s post under Pictures: All Natural. I notice the responses from several of the guys were that she was muscular, yet feminine. Great balance…
Polar princess does look great! I’m just pointing out the fact that eventhough she is muscular, strong looking, and looks like she put a lot of work in it, that she is definitely feminine. I am not “judgemental” nor am I “perpetuating and myths about women’s training”. I am merely stating a fact that MOST woman prefer to remain femine, and MOST men prefer their women feminine, that doesn’t mean that that these feminine women don’t work hard or that they don’t have muscles. Also, it doesn’t mean there aren’t many women out there who don’t care if they are or not. I’m just saying that a woman who looks very athletic now, may have started out by asking a question like “If I do squats, will my waist and butt get big?” More than likely the response was "It depends, working the quads will give you a nice shape and balance both upper and lower body. Won’t squatting make my waist and ass huge? The answer is - it depends. Squatting will work the glutes and there isn’t much you can do to prevent it except making sure your stance isn’t too wide. Placing a one-inch board under your heels is also a good way to reduce glute involvement. Many top bodybuilders have built their superb legs around the squat. Yet when you see pictures of them, their waists are streamlined and their hips, thighs and glutes are all in perfect proportion.
Therefore, how small your waist can get is genetically determined. Do you have naturally wide or narrow hips? Is your butt along the same vertical plane as your shoulders (i.e. does it stick out naturally)? When it comes to measurements, some bodybuilders can dial it in at a tight 28-inch waist; others may have to settle for a wider midsection around 30 inches. Focus on ripping up the midsection before worrying about a large butt. It is a great exercise that develops strength, stability and endurance while working the cardiovascular system as well. Therefore, it speeds up the body’s metabolism." … and she learned learned something.
And to E~Pluribus Unum: “one day T-girl will have some one introduce her to proper lifting and she will see her physique change with out 2 hours of cardio and think about you”
… now who’s making assumptions??? I know that lifting is great, I am a lifter and I do know the affects it has the body, thank you very much.
Again, I reiterate, the people who were jumping to conclusions were the ones assuming a girl who asks a nieve question is not serious about body building or become more equanted w/ lifting/training.
Patricia’s typo in her profile was funny. Mainly, because most of us knew it was a typo. A little investigation would have revealed that she would have been the most dense 222lbs known to (wo)man.
t-girl: by being a woman, you are “feminine” - lifting, addtion of LBM will not, or ever, take away feminity. But add to.
And the pic is of “Iron Princess” not “Polar Princess”. And my advice to her would be the addition of some added LBM in the proper places would indeed heighten the feminine qualities of her physique. I ain’t even gonna touch that whole explanation of the squat/waistline/glute thing in your last post. What the hell was that?
Phatman: my post ( and yes, I’m explaining it now), was in defense of women out there. All women. The assumption was being made that if a vixen’s only forum was created that ONLY women with such dumb questions like “will squats make my butt larger”, or say “muscles look bulky” will only post. And I believe would be far from the truth.
Jared: thanks, but actually that wasn’t a typo. Had begun that waaaay back when this forum was in Beta Testing stage and I just didn’t change it. :-))
The point actually is not Patricia and her size or body. To tell you the truth, she looks great. All I’m saying is that all women have different goals of weight training and can all learn from each other. We don’t have to have 20 years training or be a powerlifter or strongwoman, or what not.
I guess I should say that if Patricia thought I was saying that she looked masculine, I apologize. She indeed does not look masculine. Actually, she proves my point… you don’t have to give up feminity to be muscular. The general population who has no experience in lifting however does. I’m glad, however, that there are women proving them wrong. I’d like to reitterate, there is nothing wrong w/ having or wanting muscles larger than most women… It’s just not what most women prefer.
Jared: as a joke
T-girl… poor poor t-girl
Hormones are a bitch when they’re out of wack huh. Makes you appear all crazy and unstable… Never fear darlin, lucky for you my ex-wife was a hormonal wacked out psycho-chick too and I’m able to recognize the symptoms.
I’m sure you’re an awesome person with the best of intentions, it just all came out wrong.
Brad
Chris, you started a war! The forum is on the brink of implosion!
Everybody take about 100mg’s of 5-HTP and a few deep breaths.
All this hostility needs to be re-directed to a few grueling sets of Push-Presses.
Suggestion- Respect the vets. They are vets for a reason, if you don’t know who they are, learn. Disagree with the vets all you want, just do it in a rational manner.
With that out of the way, I am going to walk the plank here and say that I feel folks are being too hard on Sally. Once you get out your Valley decoder ring, she actually has some interesting things to say. Sure it would be nice if she was more clear at times, but she is not as devoid of grey matter as some would like to believe. She has, and will continue to have good things to say, and is more knowledgable about training and nutrition than some who post here quite often (conveyed through PM questions and conversations of her’s).
So Sally, use Word and hit the spellcheck, and keep bringing the posts. And folks, have some patience, and look a little deeper.
While I occasionally poke fun at people who say things like, “I was making sex to my wife last night” or “I am vein” I hope people can realize it’s all in good fun. I don’t feel compelled to criticize someone’s grammar mistakes unless: 1) that person is saying something moronic and 2) they are saying it like it is the gospel and everyone else is uninformed, ie “like there is no fiber or EFA’s in flax seeds.”
I had a conspiracy theory that Sally from the Valley was a forum regular in stealth mode trying to prove a point about people flaming girls. Ok so she’s for real, and I agree that we should cut her some slack. The whole point of this thread was to give some feedback about a T Vixen forum because some ladies may feel intimidated. What if certain people who read this site have great things to contribute, but are hesitant to post because they may have trouble putting their thoughts into words? I’d feel like a bastard for ripping them, unless of course the actual content of their post sucked. So I vow to only be a smart ass if you are an undisputed bonehead.
Now let’s all hold hands and sing Kumbayah. Goldberg, you still in?
To T-girl:; I was referring to females who compete in ANY sport. Those just happen to be the ones that Patricia is intereseted in. What do I need to do, list every sport?
222lbs at 5’4", thats funny.
You know it just occurred to me that we have a full forum of Hot Rox dieters coming to the end of a 12 week diet…Could be the reason why I’m a little cranky.
The Carbs made me do it, Carbs is da devil. Or Lack of Carbs made me do it, Fats is da devil. Which ever works best for you.
Stella-
WILL NOT mess with you, no way!
BUT-
Pssst, I know char is a man, I was responding to:
"I’m not even really sure that you’re a woman. " remark he made.
char- in bursting your bubble it was not to declare WAR.
I think the fact that in the 1st post I said:
“SO Who cares? Not me
What if the worst of our fears happens?
Should that stop us?(from posting)No”
Even the dreaded spelling mistake ohhhhhh.
This would be near to your post:
“anyone who lets themselves get intimidated by the fear of getting flamed by someone who they’ll probably never meet is, let’s face it, looking for an excuse not to succeed.”
So you see I (a new female who is also posting) was answering your request, I know I or Trish may not have met your stipulations (asking a tec question) but I don’t think it should be limited to just questions.
Your saying it would be fine to roast a picture post, or a statement by a New B, but not a New B question?
Oh ok I see…
more of these rules…?
Yuck, that screams contradiction to me.
Lets turn this around if it is possible:
I have been a target, the bulls eye (UNTIL t-girl! Thanks by the way)
And an easy one at that.
And to all the lurkers LOOOOOOOOK
I am still here (even after a spelling like a highschool drop out)![]()
So stop lurking and let your fingers do the talken!
Mark - speechless…
Yikes, a most prodigious endorsement, one I believe leaves me indebted.
An AVATAR of cyberspace T-men.
Amusingly clever and possessing a quick wit, never disrespectful or impertinent, and you come with your own built-in microprocessor.
Mix that with expertise, style, exciting improvisation, and the body well, in one blond idiot’s opinion a flawlessness manifestation of focused consciousness.
This forum is Golden!
ScrubMD2B, by the way, I do appreciate you backing me up about the flax issue in the photo forum. You are correct, she shouldn’t have made her unfounded statement in an omniscient tone. I wasn’t calling you out in particular about Sally, it just seemed that she was undeservedly getting ganged up on by everyone.
I think phatman is right, too much pissy diet-induced T-folk.
Sad attempt to avoid a hijack…
My vote for a female forum: Not a bad idea, but I would rather see the ladies jump in on the other forums and be accepted and encouraged.
