Poll: Vixen Forum?

Having a problem posting, so sorry if this comes up two or 3x.

I would like to retract my previous post about my girlfriend being more likely to post in a women’s forum. Her exact words were, “I wouldn’t go to that website either way.” This is a blasphemous statement. Now, my question is: should I A) fire her as my girlfriend immediately, or B) get her nekkid, get some Androgel, rub it all over her entire body, while at the same time getting praise for engaging in more foreplay? Muhahahahahahaha

Char-
Arnt you the witty one. Well said, I commend you on your candor.

But you forgot about Trish, do you not remember her?

And my post Green tea was about Rooibos a different tea that has great anti-ox prop’s. However you do have a point in your comment about me coming across as an Eejit. (That was my goal- thats the $ shot)

Further your quite rite Marc did well responding to my infantile gargon. He did need to clarify the ratio. And what if I was some bubble head 16 year old then what?

So as far as the points you have I lost track, you were at one but stopped?
Hey how bout we just say you win,
and as far as the “Wild Male Peacock” post well Mr. Bereardi is far more adept then to think he need defend his Hams from some juvie post comment. I found it distasteful frankly, a drastic detour from his elegant disposition!
So sue…
I think he far more exceeding then that, in my defence I did say I would strut if I were he…like yaaa

Kodos on your loyalty to the T-crew you deserve acknowledgment of validity, and far more readers (the ones who freak at a tec difficulty) should adopt your graditude for the knowalge resource they are providing us for free.
LIKE… THIS FORUM IS GOLDEN

Just do the occasional guest forum to let the lurkers get experience. A round table thing perhaps (I think that was suggested already).

Hi all - another lurker here. I’m in the same camp as blondeblue…I don’t post because being a relative newbie, I don’t feel I have much to offer…yet…

I’ve only posted with questions a couple of times, but those times I’ve had my questions answered with respect, intelligence and experience - thank you, I appreciate it.

I don’t feel intimidated and when I get to a point where I feel I could offer more, I’ll post more. In the meantime, I read and learn.

That said - a women’s forum… I could take it or leave it. I personally don’t think it’s necessary. I just say thanks for having a great place to get quality information - period.

Oh - and y’all know most women DO have some testosterone too!

…Liz…

Thanks all for your opinions. I’ve asked others to chime in in Reader Mail this week, but it looks like we don’t need a vixen category right now.

However, we may be doing a “T-vixen Roundtable” article soon. Patricia has already signed on so it should be sweet. She’s very good at dispelling the myths about women and weights. Should be a great article to print out and give to women interested in getting into REAL training.

Oh, and before someone sends me a letter accusing us of “selling out” by doing an article for women… We have 261 issues with about five articles in each. That’s over 1000 articles. How many were geared towards females and training? Two. (And actually one of those was written for men, teaching them how to get their wives/girlfriends into the T-mag lifestyle.) So save it.

Yo Phatman, I doubt any T-Vixens will get upset over a little ribbing. If they were that sensitive then they would have went running after reading the first article by TC. I respect them enough to believe they are intelligent enough to understand, and not be offended, by a little humor. The ones who would be so offended are the ones who give me the dirty looks when I wear my Testosterone shirt out in public.

Also I have been so serious on these forums lately that my brain starting to burn.

To be serious, are we sure there are so many lurking T-Vixens? This magazine tends to draw men. Most women are on those “Squats might make my but look big, but I’ll buy the Buttercise 1900 to make my butt fat vanish,” websites. A T-Vixen forum might not have enough people to support it. Also the reason some people lurk, and not post might not be changed just because another forum is opened up. (Ow, the burning.)

The only way to determine if a forum will work is to have one. The numbers will tell the story.

One concession would be to have a female be the guest on the Guest Forum occasionally. That might let more “lurkers” feel comfortable about posting. It would also help to focus on more appropriate questions. Typically, in the Guest Forum, people have been asking questions related to the guest’s background and expertise. Hopefully, this would discourage the questions many of us are afraid of seeing (i.e. the ones Patricia mentioned).

Hey Mage,

Good point, I wasn’t really worried about the regulars, I know they can take it and dish it out with the best of them. I was just concerned about the
lurkers and the newbs. No blood, no foul.

To The Mage: We T-Vixens only pose in our squat suits, wrestling singlets and bench shirts. Then we add our 4 inch belts, wrist wraps and knee wraps. (That vision ought to loosen up your pants a bit.)

True, I forgot Trish. My bad.

But I don’t think that Trish is a really good example here. She put her photo up on the Photo Forum and asked for comments, which she got - some positive some negative. I don’t see that as being in the same category as asking a question and getting flamed because you don’t have the “appropriate” level of technical expertise.

My original challenge was pretty clear, I thought: provide a specific instance where a newbie woman asked a question and got flamed for it. So I don’t understand why you would pick a posted picture and try to use it as a counter-example. (Trish has no other posts.)

Then again, I don’t understand why someone would purposely come onto a forum and present him- or herself as a lobotomized teenager. I don’t believe that you’re 16; you’re certainly not from Southern California; I’m not even really sure that you’re a woman. But - to use your word - whatever.

To every man and woman on this thread that has said that only women will post such inane questions as “will squats make my butt big?” and other “tired” questions: shame on you.

To every man and woman who posted that statement without even thinking of the countless times someone (MALE) has come onto this site and asked: “how do I get hyoooge” or “I’ve reached my genetic limit after 5-months of training…what type of steroids are good for me?” Shame on you for not realizing that for every one woman out there with so-called stupid questions, there’s a man.

And just a big shame, shame on you for that assumption that every woman out there has no interest beyond “toning” in weight training. I am so utterly pissed after reading some of these posts. After nearly 20-years of weight training, and we’re still at the same bullshit assumptions that were prevalent when I began.

Just to let you lost souls in on what is being discussed on these other boards (in the womens forums): “R-ALA w/Carb-Out”, “Sprint Workouts”, “Refeed Strategies”, “Dual Factor Hypertrophy”, “Examine my squat form” - and yes, there are the “help my girl”, But on the training boards, there are as many of the “stupid” questions as well. Amazing: stupidity and ignorance can cross gender lines.

But, wait, I’m not done. I still believe that a “vixen’s only” forum is not the way to go. It’s embarrassing to see so many say it will open the doors to those too “intimidated” to post here. Geezus. Then how ever do you expect to learn, to improve? The world will not coddle you, why should a faceless forum?

Well, that’s that. Shugsy has said that it does not look like a reality. But I had to get this out of my system.

US=GG: I was going to PM you about the whole political dealie but for some reason, the link is missing for you. Don’t want to hijack this thread any more than it has been but either activate that PM feature and hit me up or I’ll find you on some other (remotely relevant) thread.

char-dawg
Frig chick move on

Who f’n cares about your outlined statement who are you?

Trish = New B = Flamed

I personally had a hard time with that thread, it was wrong how she was treated. If it was a question, a photo, she still was a New B.

The point of this thread is not if “Sally” has come across inaporpreatly, or if she has your respect or made scence to you

It’s fine your a strong, sassy Vixen.

We get it. And we are all looking forward to seeing you post your Hot Rocks Shots, and then do me a fav and lay off them, and eat some carbs.

Putting too much effort here.

Please stop the catfight. Let it go
You won
What ever value that holds.

I’m a little late chiming in, but what the hell.

To Patricia:
"And just a big shame, shame on you for that assumption that every woman out there has no interest beyond “toning” in weight training. I am so utterly pissed after reading some of these posts. After nearly 20-years of weight training, and we’re still at the same bullshit assumptions that were prevalent when I began. "

Was this aimed at Rebecca for assuming that if you have a woman’s forum that only that you’ll have too many of those “toning” questions? I’m just curious because you said you were pissed after reading “some” of these posts. I didn’t see any other ones that assumed anything. Who elso were you referring to???
I read them all thoroughly, and think you are offended because Solo’s girl doesn’t want to be muscular. But that is her choice. She was just pointing out that some women prefer to take it beyond toning and some don’t. Solo was just defending the women who do worry about the possible effects of weight lifting… especially, if a person is inexperienced. She didn’t say or assume (neither did anyone else in this thread, for that matter) “that every woman out there has no interest beyond “toning” in weight training” as you are accusing people of assuming. To quote solo: “I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with being a very bulky muscular woman, it’s just not what my goal is.”

Just because you prefer to be more muscular that the average woman(yes, more women prefer not to have massive muscles), doesn’t mean that their are woman out there who aren’t interested in toning or whatever else that may be different from what your goals are. We all have different goals as to what our body should look like, but more than likely every person who reads this website, is already lifting and eating healthy or just interested in learning more about it, so that’s where we can learn from each other. We all have different expertise, some bodybuilding, power lifters, ect. That brings me to another point… Ko posted: “She wants to here from the female athletes out there: fighters, powerlifters, strongwomen, bodybuilders” So does that mean, you don’t want to hear from a figure competitor, model, fitness instructor… Hell, for that matter, one can be a person who doesn’t have any experience with a thing on this site, but doesn’t mean that they can learn from it. So I think you are the one that is being judgemental, only wanting woman in your category to post. If you were asking a question aimed particularly at that group, then that is one thing, but this is a thread about having a “woman’s” forum - not having a woman powerlifter forum or a woman’s fighter forum. Also, why would Ko think we misunderstood you and thought you were talking to women out there who work out just because their boyfriend works out?? What gave him that idea?? Do you know someone who posted on this thread that works out only because their boyfriend works out??
I personally think you are paranoid and very defensive of the fact that you have large muscles. That is your choice and no one on this thread has said that is a bad thing. Be proud of your accomplishments, but don’t be upset because there are girls that want muscles, but not as big as yours. And if you are upset that you are in the minority, meaning a woman who wants larger than average muscles, get over it… we are all in the minority of something. Shit, everyone on this site is in the fuckin minority if they are healthy.
Look at it this way: Just because I prefer short hair on me, doesn’t mean I don’t like your long hair on you. To each his own!!
And I believe the orininal question should have been directed completly at the woman who are reading, but not posting. Why should the rest of you give a fuck if there is a woman’s category? Doesn’t mean you have to read or even post there for that matter!!
(before you think I was prowoman’s forum, I like to clear that up by stating I never declared my opinion on that one way or another)

Oh yeah… Patricia… the shame is all on you!

Lookin good She-Ra

This thread is turning into amateur hour. What the fuck are you talking about, Sally?

Sally, are you from the US. Your posts are really hard to understand and I’m hoping that you are foreign. Maybe that will explain the confusion of your posts.

T-girl, your entire judgemental post is what people hope to AVOID in any new women’s forum.

You perpetuate myths about women’s training without even trying, and it’s kinda sad that you use a forum vet as a target to further your views.

Now, back to your Tae-bo classes and come back when you can behave.

t-girl: You really really misunderstood what Patricia was saying.

And isn’t Sally from Australia? I think she said that in another thread.

Tips for Sally: Proofread. Finish high school. Be yourself. (Unless you’re an idiot, then just don’t post here.)
