Meh. Most parents aren’t on the ball with video games.

All the serious gamers had their systems reserved ages ago.

Plus a $200 markup for a workaholic absentee father is pennies
Ya, true.
Wow, that’s crazy. I went like less than 2 weeks ago and was able to pre-order one of each system. Since it was so easy, I also preordered a second PS4 to sell later. I wonder if people are just much lazier now and would rather just go online in their living room even if it means paying more than calling stores. Not sure the best time to sell the PS4 or how much I’ll get for it, but it’s a pretty safe investment since the worst case scenario is I get my money back.
Ya, I pre-orderd mine on Amazon so I don’t get why you’d wait unless your lazy or just don’t know about the production limits.

I would think any time after Thanksgiving is a good time to start selling. You can try and hold out for those desperate a week or so before Christmas, but you might miss the rush.
Well, I personally waited because I haven’t played video games for a while and just recently decided to get back into it, but I see your point. I was thinking the best time to sell would be after Black Friday to Christmas eve (essentially what you said), but I suppose production of units will also matter.

For you people who are planning on getting PS4, what game would you recommend I look into knowing I was going to get Watch Dogs and prefer that type of a game. I know there is Battlefield and AC, but not sure if I’ll get the same out of them having never played any of the previous one. I also have heard good things about the new Knack game, but not sure if that will fit the bill. Thoughts?

That’s tough because I don’t think many games like Watchdog are coming out for at least a while. I assume you mean open world exploraiton type games (Fallout, GTA, etc…) I think your best bet is ACIV. Playing the other games will certainly fill you in on the backs story, but the main character is ACIV is a completely new character seperate from Altiar (Sp?), Envio, or shit (Conner??). It’s open world, although slightly different than a GTA or Skyrim. THe story is independent except for the Desmond stuff I’m assuming. Don’t worry about who Desmond is, you’ll learn to ignore him like everyone else…

I don’t know much about Knack. It looks neat, but I don’t know what kind of gameplay it is.

I probably spelled everyone of those names wrong…

Titanfall is gonna be a sweet game can’t wait for that…Oh wait wrong thread!!! Trolololololol

Guess I’ll go ahead and preorder AC4 or Killzone Shadowfall.

I hope this doesn’t fuck up my preorder with Wal-Mart.
Yeah i saw that, wasnt planning on purchasing until some reviews come out so thats not terrible news in my case.
Yeah, I’m not particularly mad about it, but it seems very odd to delay a game ONE MONTH, before it is to be released. Especially considering they would’ve needed to start preparing for distribution, packaging, retail, etc. in the next week or two.

They probably didn’t want to release it so close to ACIV, which would’ve been a pretty bad decision anyway.
I wonder if some of the lengthier gameplay videos theyve released recently didnt quite generate as much positive feedback as they thought, because i know my interest dipped a bit after watching some extended play sections.

I dont know why, but i have a strong feeling that Titanfall doesnt live up to the hype. I just dont see it being the system seller MS is making it out to be.

Im predicting an average critic review score of 8. Ill revisit this later.

Yeah, that’s what I mean. I had preordered Watch Dogs and then it got pushed back to the spring so I have to pick a new one. I suppose I just meant I wanted a game that had a good story I could spend some time with. I do enjoy multiplayer games like COD and Madden, but in the beginning I just want a game I can ease into. Not like I forgot how to play video games but still…

Knack does seem cool, in line with some of the other games from that creator like Crash Bandicoot, but I don’t know too much about it either. The PS4 UI video showed a few seconds of its gameplay, but that’s all I’ve seen thus far.

I’ll definitely take a closer look at AC, thanks!

Looks to me like COD with robots. The fact that Titanfall is coming out on p.c. will undercut the xbone’s console exclusivity.

OWL Drone is OP, Guerrilla please nerf.

I envy you guys who live at ANY other country.

It will be cheaper travel to USA buy the ps4 and i would still have 1000 US$ to spent on something else.

It was definitely rough around the edges.

I saw one video where the guy broke open a window to get in a car…but the window didn’t actually break…

You got the particle effects simulating the window breaking, but the window was still there. So that game definitely needs more time in the oven.

But GTA V got some extra time in the oven and look how well that turned out (sans the multiplayer portion).

My interest is still piqued, and Ubisoft is definitely one of my favorite publishers/developers, but I’ll probably wait for some reviews before I go through with the purchase like I intended to November.

Ya, it looks good, but a lot of games look good pre-release. The problem is 1) it’s only multiplayer, and 2) the balance has to be good. If There’s 1 giant robot and everyone else in on foot in each game that shit will get old quick.

It does look good though. I heard a rumor it might get a PS4 port, but it’s microsoft’s IP isn’t it?

Ah nostalgia.

I think it belongs to E.A., so it may come to ps4 at some point.

Damn. This is what “next-gen” is all about
