Playstation 4 Announced

Anyone else agree or is it just me?[/quote]

I honestly think MGS 2 was the best one. I thought the environments (the tanker and the big shell) were the coolest/funnest to explore, the story was the best, and it was revolutionary and well ahead of its time.

Also, if you have the HD collection like i do, the remastered graphics hold up pretty well even today.

On the subject of the last of us (spoiler)

The game is pretty intense but it dont really find it scary at all so far, except for one part…in the flooded basement of the hotel

Did anyone else have to convince themselves to play through that part? It scared the shit out of me when the clickers and the bloater finally came out, especially after youve been wandering around in the dark and hearing all these creepy noises off in the distance.

Also, the stampede of rats coming at you was a good “oh shit” moment.

There’s a few scary parts coming up, the game is a lot scarier on the harder difficulties though.

I’m playing through the game again on hard and was playing that exact part so I knew what was coming and wasn’t completely freaked out but I screamed like a little girl when I scrambled up the ramp to run to the exit and a bloater was standing there waiting for me and I could hear the other two down stairs with the horrible sounds of clickers and other infected running to get me.

There are 3 bloaters in that part on the harder difficulties? I dont think ill be attempting that.

Im not big on scary games lol. I like scary movies, never liked scary games though.

I’ve probably played the 2nd one the most because of just how awesome the Tanker chapter is.

The remake they did for the first MGS on gamecube is equally awesome, i wish they would release an HD update of that for the ps3. The first game is still great but when i played through it again about a year ago, some of the dated mechanics were pretty annoying.

The first part of it, on the ship when you have to crawl around the back of the assembly of naval men, moments like that were the most fun I’ve had playing a game.

I’ve gotta say though personally, mgs 3 - snake eater was my favourite. The environment, the story line, the bosses. The sniper battle with ‘The End’ is easily my favourite boss fight ever, and so hard! Even on the next few times I tried it. And the ending SPOILER ALERT where snake has to kill big boss I’m not gonna lie it got me a little choked up ha! And the scenery for that battle was just awesome, with all the tall white flowers swaying in the wind. If anyone reading this never played it then it probably comes across as gay as. But it’s the best

And no I don’t have the hd edition for some reason… I have to get that

This may be a dumb question (I’m almost certain it’s a dumb question), but is Metal Gear Solid 4 any good?

I bought it I awhile ago because it was on sale for $20, but never got around to playing it, nor did I want to invest the time, because one of my friends told me there’s hour long cut scenes in the game.

As a side note, I recently bought a 3-month subscription to PS+ to see what all the hubbub has been about and it’s really an awesome service. Discounts, timed trials, free games, etc…and on GOOD shit too. As fate would have it, I’ve been meaning to play Hitman Absolution, XCOM, and Uncharted 3, I load up my membership, and all three games are sitting in there for free.

Makes me wonder:

  1. How the hell is Sony affording this shit?

  2. If Sony can afford it, then how come I’m not getting all this free shit and discounts on Xbox Live?

Compared to the terrible value that is Xbox Live Gold, (games with gold is laughable) PS+ is more than worth the money.

Once PS4 launches and everyone has PS+, i dont think you’ll see anyone complaining.

I will be getting PS plus this week to make the transition to PS4 a little bit smoother on launch week, they are doing something like pay for a year you get an extra 90 days which is crazy.

£46 to get access to loads of great games is a bargain.

I really loved the sniper battle on my first way through, eventually I found the cheat way of sneaking up behind him and always used to use that so it got incredibly boring, kind of wish I could go back in blind.

The Boss is so great, and seeing The Sorrow and the original Ocelot and that whole story arc is one I really enjoyed. The final fight scene where The Boss dies before the MIGs come down is such a great scene. Just seeing the original Snake’s timeline play out is what makes up most of my favourite MGS moments, I can’t wait for The Phantom Pain to show up and carry on that time before Solid and Liquid become a driving force.

Man I really want to see how MGSV turns out, I’m really excited for the open world.

  3. I thought MGS 4 was good. It does have long cut scenes but I think they are skippable if you want to. Worst part about the game is the huge installs that take forever. IIRC the game only installs itself as it goes along to save time/space but still is annoying.

  4. PS+ is a great value. From what I understand, Sony takes the money they get from subscriptions and then negotiates with game publishers on what they can get to include in the free games program and for how much. Only thing is they do it by region. While the US PS+ free games are very good, IMO the EU version of PS+ blows everything else out of the water. So I am envious of the guy in here from Scotland.

I’ve considered making a EU PSN account but really don’t want to deal with the hassle of having multiple accounts, that, and the fact I’m good on PS+ until 2016 or so due to deals I’ve gotten on subs.

It does make me wonder what MS does with all the XBL Gold sub money though. I don’t play online enough to justify paying for XBL Gold if all they do is beef up servers (which I still have doubts on). Oh wait, they did just give out Assassins Creed 2 for free. 2009 says hi!

At first they wanted to make

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER ALERT Snake killing The Boss a cutscene, but Kojima stated that he wanted to make players feel the weight of having killed The Boss… and boy… i still carry that weight, all the way through Peace Walker SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER End

I really enjoyed Peace Walker despite the lighter tone and mood, but MGS3 is still my favorite, Kojima was a subversive mofo making everyone believe on trailers that Solid would be the main character on MGS2, still an excellent game, but my least favorite due to Raiden.

By the way it hasn’t stopped me from buying Revengeance, i still haven’t started it yet, but every game on MGS Saga is a must-play.

I played the demo for Revengeance or whatever its called, i thought it felt pretty generic with some questionably gameplay mechanics. Got better reviews than i expected though.

fuck playstation. xbox one will have the new metal gear solid also and tons of other better games than ps4.

You should post in the xbox one thread…oh wait, they aint one. Guess that speaks volumes regarding its popularity.

I hope you enjoy paying more money, for a weaker console, with shite house owned developers and are looking forward to the inevitable time when Microsoft gives you a nice system update turning back on DRM and other shite policies.

If you have any doubt in your pea brain that they will do this, watch this and skip to 8:40 to watch him bullshit his way around their horrendous unveiling.

“I hope that some point in the future, some of those cool features, some of that family sharing, that house hold sharing stuff, the games are always with you, WE WANT TO BRING THAT STUFF BACK.”

They gonna fuck you in the ass fanboy.

I like me a good ass fucking. I can hardly wait for MS to do it to people they have buying their tech.
